Thanks big_bake. And no updates worth posting about really. Most of what I've been doing as of late is just organizing cabinets. But in general things have been more slow going than they were before since my wife and I had our second child 7 weeks ago. Kids sure do put a damper on your free time, lol.
I did manage to epoxy and paint our attached garage a few weekends ago though. Honestly, it wasn't the ideal time in our life to do that either but the pot life on my Armorclad epoxy was nearing its end and the temps and humidity were about to permanently (3 - 4 months anyway) exceed the application recommendations, so it had to be done. But the wife really likes the results too so it was worth her letting me spend a couple weekends out "playing" in the garage.
Here are a few pics:
This is the only "before" shot I took. I had already scrubbed and degreased it at this point (obviously the floor is wet).
Here is an after-epoxy but before-paint pic.
The detached got black, white, and gray flakes because the walls were going to be gray. I ordered a separate bag of green flakes and substituted those for the gray ones in the attached.
Not the greatest "after" pic but you get the idea.

Awesome thread! I hate to say it too, but the wife was right on the shutters. It adds just enough to break up the side wall. I wish I could've built a loft like that on our new build, but with it being attached to a ranch home I didn't want the garage to look out of place.
Do you know what the approx. cost of the epoxy was and which products you used? I am building a new house with large garage/workshop and plan on doing the epoxy before we move in, or it'll never get done lol. I see you didn't go up the block wall portion with the epoxy. I thought about doing that in mine, but not sure the extra cost is worth it, as it shouldn't get too beat up.

The only thing I will add is that I have had a few sections of the epoxy peel up since making the above thread. As you can see, I followed all their prep procedures and recommendations and even applied the primer layer, which is optional. With that said, I purchased one of Armor Clad's patch kits (and they actually gave me a second free of charge) and have repaired those spots and knock on wood, no issues since then. And the patched areas are very hard to see. Honestly the only reason they are perceivable at all is due to a slight difference in their level of "glossyness." Part of that is because I don't think I got the level of friction additive quite the same in the patches and two just because those spots have no wear and tear on them yet. Other than that I've been very pleased with the floor in its durability, look, and cost.

Great build sir! Love the operating room appearance of the detached with all that lighting in there. As a northeast Wake County guy, would you mind sharing your builder? I realize the detached was a few years ago and prices have skyrocketed, but the initial build number seemed quite reasonable for what you got. I'm looking for a 24x36 (ideally 24x40) for our lot and the quotes I've received so far have been astonishingly high, even given the current lumber climate.

rmckee, I had HWS Garages (https://www.hwsgarage.com/) do the build. I think the majority of the numbers are in this thread somewhere but I don't fault you for not finding them in all these pages. If I recall the base price for a single story 24x36 was $38K. But with the addition of the second story, hardy plank (instead of vinyl), brick front and foundation, the rear garage door, and maybe a couple of extra windows I believe the grand total was $52K. I ran the plumbing over and had electric brought over with a sub panel installed but then I did all the remaining plumbing and electrical work. Then I sub'd out insulation, drywall and paint. All in I likely have $60K in it. But FWIW, I had quotes from $35K to $70K at that time.
Coincidentally enough, I just finished installing one of the final touches last weekend (been waiting 5 years)... a Nussbaum SPL 10 two-post lift!!!

Awesome build! you pretty much built my idea/ design I have in mind for my shop and I appreciate the tons of pics to validate myself! lol. I'm planning very similar in DFW, TX area but I need to pretty much brick and stone all; I'm going to try to metal roof and metal over brick "waiscot" on back side to save some coin but HOAs... we shall see. Again, great build and it looks awesome, and congrats on the lift, I've been waiting years for mine as well and I know you must be ecstatic!
