I admire the detail, certainly creative.

Now that you have the lift fitted etc, do you still park the 2 cars in there given that I imagine the inside tyre would be almost straddling the gaps?

Either way, great to see the garage as an extention of the house, not just a place to store stuff.

Cheers,

Actually, parking two cars in the garage is exactly why I chose to have a recessed lift installed. Parking two cars is effortless, as the lift is the exact height as the floor. The gaps on the side are minuscule and to be honest I don't even notice them. The large gap in the rear is being filled by a piece of steel that is being powder coated to match the BendPak blue color so you won't even notice it is there.

Very nice build.

Where are the in-wall subs for the garage? ;)

I am very impressed that your integrator is able to get C4 to handle all of the more complex automation that you described. He must really know his C4 stuff (and like doing a lot of clicking and dragging).

What are you running for your NVR software that works well with C4 panels? It is fairly picky about which h264 or mjpeg streams it displays.

Sorry to pull the topic off of the garage, but I am an AMX residential automation programmer and we also sell C4 for the smaller jobs. I don't normally do any of the C4 configuration, but I do get called in to stretch the C4 sandbox from time to time.

Here are two quick pics from one of our last projects that I programmed since you seem to like this stuff too. Both of these are before the dropped ceiling was installed:

Oh, I almost forgot.... Nice choice in cars and colors too!

To be honest...I have no idea what he does to make all this stuff happen, but I know that I just ask him to do certain things and then he does it. Only one time did I tell him of a scenario I wanted where he told me no.

Well I finally got the nerve to put one of the cars on the lift and try it out. WOW, very cool! If goes up a lot faster than I thought it would. Here's a few pics...

It is AMAZING! The camera helped me get right in on the second try. I had a buddy in the garage to let me know I was right on track over the jack points. There is also a laser that has pinpoint accuracy. I wanted it so I could get right where I needed to be without have to have another person in the garage to guide me. It works perfectly!

I think you need to tell us what he told you no about. Cause it has got to be even more insane than the rest of this waiting..

I was asking him if there was a way to control some of the more elaborate automation functions with my voice. He said that it was sketchy at best, and to wait a while for some improvement in that area.

The garage is basically done. Just a few more little finishing touches coming next week. Looking forward to a visit from Jeff of Bendpak on Monday as well. OK, so here are some pics from today.

Someone had asked me to explain the basic lift install procedure as far as the slab was concerned. They didn't pour a new floor, they just notched out the existing one. See pics below...

Saw yer toolbox (above post) and am wondering what you use a ticket puncher for?

BTW, I am using you to get up to speed on current technology for my next garage. My daughter says I have to be dragged, kicking and screaming into the right century...

I wanted to thank Jeff K. and Derek T. from Bendpak for stopping by my place today to check out the lift. Jeff brought me a box of assorted sized rubber blocks to use on all my different cars, as well as an additional custom piece for my lift that I asked him to fabricate for me. The good news is that this piece might become a standard part of the lift in the near future.

Support after the sale is probably just as important as the product itself. I am really glad I chose Bendpak for my lift. I can tell that Jeff is really a stand up guy and he really cares about his customers.

They also shot a video of my garage for their website. Looking forward to seeing that when it is all done.

Great to meet you guys and hang out today. Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Looks great!!

Funny thing about the ticket puncher, ever since I was a lil kid there was the building which looked like a house that I drove by every other day for probably 28 years or so. Turns out that they make ticket punchers and I believe they are the only company in the USA that makes them.

How about a sound byte of some of your music?

Beautiful garage. I'll be stealing your idea on the lift as I finish out my garage.

What is the black Husky box near the lift controls? Is that an air drier/regulator?

Totally unreal. The House AND garage. Both are absolutely fantastic. One question, just per chance was your house ever featured on TV. Maybe HGTV? The reason I wonder is that water wall and ball looks like one I've seen on television before.

Actually...my contractor was featured there and they showed some of his work...including parts of my home, but the entire home wasn't featured.

Someone had asked me if I could fit two cars in the new garage. I tried it today. No problem...The fish-eye lens on the overhead camera makes it looked more cramped than it really is.

I just read the complete thread, and now I am basicly speechless. Wow, very cool. The creativity, and attention to detail is amazing. Nice job.
