Done deal. Pretty happy with the accuracy I was able to achieve just using basic shop tools.

I'm still ordering the cast iron version or the make it yourself version of the triangle square..

I just received my mini cast iron set this morning. It's very rare for me to see something and just purchase it without hesitating but this product solves so many issues for me. cant wait to put them to work and thanks to th OP of this thread, I would have otherwise never know about this product.

I received my cast iron mini set yesterday and had a chance to put them to use today.
First off, the customer service was great as I had my default address on my PayPal account as my PO box. Realizing FedEx wouldn't deliver, I sent an email to Fireball on a Sunday and got a reply back the same day.
Also saw on my bank statement that they had credited back the 10% discount for new customers that I didn't see until after the fact.
Each piece was individually boxed and then went into a single box. Snug fit, no chance of items shifting and ripping through the box. Box weight was a chunky 21#s.
I had material cut for a piece of gym equipment that I have built many times before. The project took a bit more time than it would normally have as I experimented with the squares. Normally I clamp to my table and use the square as just that, a square. With the Fireball pieces I was able to use them as fixtures. The end result was a piece that came out square in all axises. These will definitely come in handy for a couple of upcoming projects.

I ordered and received the cast mini yesterday. Great quality, milled faces. I'm guessing they went cast so the sides could be accurately milled and the cast will not warp or deform should there be any thermal heat soaking or transfer. I would think it would be harder to keep the steel kit units square over time.

Damn,never made it past the video, and I just ordered, Any chance for the discount now?

I waited around to see if a different deal popped up after Fathers day but got an automated response from his site after asking about any different up coming sales. I got impatient at the beginning of July and pulled the trigger once the mini cast iron set was back in stock. That 10% would have helped on the shipping for sure.

I'm guessing you guys were the ones who wiped the stock out and sent me into panic buying mode when they hit the shelf again. I should of known to check here first.

I hear you. I noticed the kits I wanted were out of stock, so I just made my own.

Just an observation by experience: a square isn't worth much in welding if the 90 degree corner isn't chamfered a good bit to clear any radius or fillets that are in the joint. As long as you're only using it to check square BEFORE welding, it's fine, but after you have a weld in the corner, good luck checking square, unless you're square has a chamfered corner for bead clearance! You rarely need the corners of a square to go all the way to the corner anyway-----tool makers should just leave off the corner so they have a jig that's 10X more useful. Of course, you could grind it off yourself too.

This is true. This issue was addressed in one of the vids using the Mega Square. One of the reason's I built one.

Notice the gaps I left at the junctions?

I do have to say, for the average fab man, these jigs are way more accurate than we will ever need.

Got my aluminum fabricator's package and I must say I'm impressed. I didn't go with cas iron because it is so humid down here on the Gulf Coast. I flipped them around in every combination I fould think of, and they were square to each other. These are damn near machinist's quality of accuracy; way more accurate than I can weld. Looking forward to actually putting them to use.

Hi every one! Thanks for all the kind words. I love helping my fellow welders/builders get the job done. To keep everyone updated, All the squares will include a tapped holes for the tabs and other fixtures. The Mini Mega squares already have them and were working on the original large squares.

To the people who purchased the cast iron sets, any regret that you didn't get the aluminum instead? I'm thinking the weight might make them a bit cumbersome to use vs the aluminum.

Double edged sword. Light weight, but cast iron would be more durable. I got the aluminum but have yet to use them! They are really nice.

Cast iron would be nice if you are welding aluminum, spatter wouldn't stick.

Oddly enough, I've been forced to do carpenter. (I hate it!) And these work great as a 3rd hand for holding boards in position as I clamp them and screw the boards together.

I'm leaning towards the aluminum. The shipping cost on the cast iron fabricator set is $185.00 USD to me here in Ottawa Canada (BTW the website currently calculates the wrong shipping fees for the cast iron stuff to Canada, website says $485 in shipping!). That's puts the set to close to $700USD. The shipping on the aluminum set is $52.

Finally got around to use my fireball cast iron square to make some fixtures for my jig table. Worked simply and perfectly!

I have the cast iron set and have used them a couple times. I really like them and the weight isn't really a factor so far. I sprayed them with a little splatter shield and didn't have too much clean up after welding.

got the mini monster in AL and love it. used it to square up the new driveway gates i'm building. each ones about 7' x 6'. managed to do them laying down on the no where near level garage floor using the 3 point system. all welded up they're only an 1/8" off corner to corner.

I got a set of my cloned version in for sale section. Not nearly as nice as the FireBall version, but much cheaper.

They have a new version of the magic square. I ordered it in cast aluminum. And a couple of squares in aluminum. Cant wait to get them. They should save lots of time and make things come out nicer.
