I am bulding a 14X 30 office within my 30x50 shop. Am I required to put 2x4 fire blocks in between the studs...., This just dawned on me..., hopefully not as I am almost 3/4 of the way done with rough wiring...
Are you renting that office space out? in so then yes you need the fire separation for the tenant space since it is a separate occupancy.
Otherwise I would say since it's an accessory space to the principal occupancy / use and you are the sole occupant you do not need to worry about it.
However, your inspector / building dept may have their own interpretation of the codes, I can only express how I have dealt with this is matter in my location.
A lot of code reviewers get caught up by this.
You don't have to fire separate interior walls if the codes say it is not required. there is a whole chapter in IBC devoted to this topic.
