Your homeowners will hopefully step in on themthey are looking into a battery operated tool I recently acquired. Mostly insured but lost a 36 Buick sedan and a Harley I acquired a week earlier neither of them on road.
This ^^^^^^Your homeowners will hopefully step in on them
Homeowners insurance won’t cover motor vehicles. They have to have auto insurance policies, even if destroyed or damaged in a structure fire.Your homeowners will hopefully step in on them
Sorry that this happened to you.My wife and I were not hurt and although the fire caught my house garage they were able to contain it there and we didn’t have to leave home at all. I‘ve been told the two vehicles that were not registered would not be covered but that info did not come from Insurance co. so I’m hopeful. The real challenge will be recovering my loss of all equipment and tools. I had two or three of everything with 50 years of accumulation.
First of all..sorry to hear of this and glad to see that it was just material loss! That fire looked intense.Sorry for your tragic loss! This is the nightmare of many here, for sure. With the prevalence of lithium batteries (and battery-powered cars) unfortunately we'll see more of this.
As others have said, usually auto policies have a 30-day period of coverage upon acquisition, so hopefully that applies under your existing policy. As for the tools, I can't imagine the loss there. Thankfully you and your spouse are OK as is the house.
