Well, after 24 months of searching from SC, to RI, to (now) DC and NoVa, I finally scored a box that I have been looking for. My old, tired 26" Canadian-made (hey, still North American) Husky stack was doomed and never saw it coming. It was painless for the Husky, I swear. I went into this endeavor wanting a KRL, but after crunching the numbers, it just didn't make sense for a home (pseudo) mechanic like me. This beauty popped locally and I made a trip down to see it.
It had somewhat of a hard life in a transmission shop for the last, well, long time (don't know how to determine the year, has the dealer sticker but no model/year on the back and the drawers are all punched differently- confusing) A dent in the top drawer didn't deter me! I was able to pound the eyesore out quick, (but one in the top drawer remains for a pro). The fact that it didn't fit in the back of my 2500HD with topper almost did. Rental trailer from Home Depot was the fix. We got home safe after multiple checks to make sure that the straps didn't move (seller, and I quote: "is this the first time you have moved a box," me:"yes, and hopefully the last").
After a few harrowing on-ramps on '95, I safely unloaded it at home by my lonesome. A bit of quick detailer, and some drawer liners on order, and this will fit my needs perfectly. More storage than I need, and room to grow. Grandpa's and Dad's Gerstners fit well on top. McGuire's cleaner, polish, and wax cleaned it up nice.
My goal to replace what few foreign tools I have to Snap-On continues. Thank you Garage Journal (not really, but thank you!), I hate you. Well, at least my wallet hates you. The drawer shots are not ready for prime time yet until the drawer liners arrive and I re-organize, but I will put it up in the "show your toolbox" when it is ready.
Without further ado...
