I'm not trying to derail your thread but would you post a pic of that grey box with the flip-up lid in the far left of photo 2?
What paint/color did you use?
I used Rustoleum Hammer-Tone Gray. To me it was tricky to spray as I would get more of a Hammer-Tone effect in some places than others.
I found out what worked best for me was to lay it on thick as hell and only spray from above.
The drawers work fine I removed all the runners and cleaned them with WD-40, dried them with compressed air and paper towels before replacing them.
I had to do the same thing for my 54 roller. Get the drawers so the fronts are face up and lay it on thick. The box body was tougher; Lay il on thick, but not so thick it runs... it's a balancing act. If you get it right you get the good Hammered effect, and a smooth slick feeling finish. if not, it actually feels like its been sand blasted... (I had to re-shoot two of my drawer fronts before I got it where I liked it)
