EC18 ARIA. We had EC-135's also.

Do you use a lead seal when setting trim?

Old thread, but a FYI:

I bought a KIQ series 7007A from a Snap-on truck in the late 90s and still have it...it's held up to very occasional usage quite well. It cost around $500-$600 new at the time. It is definitely like the Bluepoint line today (not the KRA/Heritage...or classic...)

I'm actually looking for a 2nd Snap-on box now and am looking at the KRA series boxes.

Regards, -mark

I was never able to get a lock bar for it; called snap-on and spoke to my dealer... I am assuming this is a situation where these parts were never things that were "field repairable" (just things like drawers, sliders, locks, linkage etc.). The lock bar was probably ripped out to be secured in a manner; that the military felt was more secure. The lock bar was installed and spot welded at the factory; if I could get the part for the current bluepoint line, I'm pretty sure it would work. I also think that these look like the Williams Industrial boxes... IDK if I will ever be able to repair mine; I'm sure someone who is good at metal work, could make me one. For now it just has our shop computer workstation on top of it and holds various things that I am not worried about be secured.
The welds I think on the inside are not secure; as the top most corners flex, I'm sure this thing has been through the ringer and it has had been hit, moved around allot. I guess if you had access to a spot welder; it could all be straightened, re welded, put back to a ridged and repaired condition with the fabrication of a lock bar... I don't have the tools or the skill... so we are just letting it be as is.

I forgot his name; somewhat new guy, not customer service or after sale, warranty oriented. He doesn't come to the shop and frankly, we are probably not the type of customers that buy that much tools, at this point (probably not worth his time). I've been dealing with snap-on corp for warranty issues, but neither really resolved the issue, its a used box and I just don't think they offer these parts for sale; parts only for use in the manufacturing process, methinks.....

Cannon plug pliers, putting lead tabs on safety wire, and some specialty tool. If not line maintenance, I would say manufacturing. The wire on the side of the box...I would guess for electrically bonding the aircraft.

I live near Holloman Air Force Base and White Sands Missile Range, Fort Bliss.... etc... etc.... LOTS of military aviation out there. I am sure it was gov't surplus... :)

Part wise; I was referring to the missing "lock bar" they took out of the box, I would like to return it to the stock locking system (missing: lock bar, linkage to lock tumbler etc.) and use it as a normal box for my tools. As it is; it cannot be locked and has no security; so, just used for storing junk, supplies mainly... :)

The parts I need are not available; the lock bar, is pretty much welded into interior when its made at the factory. Assuming, the aviation/military foks; tore it out when they used it. I did find the link for the parts they offer for the box before; unfortunately they do not sell the lock bar. Tribbles, thanks for the info; I was never in the military or a aviation tech, so any info appreciated. This box is just being used for storing stuff that isn't important, since it can't be secured... a computer is on top for looking up all data. ;-)
