Hi guy's I'm looking for a flex shaft grinder to clean up casting marks and smooth my 6 spd aluminum trans. Any suggestions? I'm only looking to spend around $100 or so. I saw some on E bay 1/4 and 1/3 hp around $100. Any good brand names to look for or to stay away from?

As always thanks for all your time and help.

Foredom is the name in these tools that you want to look up. I think they have the market cornered. If you want to know if this type of tool is for you without dropping a lot of coin, then check this one out from Harbor Fright. http://www.harborfreight.com/flexible-shaft-grinder-and-carver-40432.html

It gets decent reviews with a little tweaking ie lubing, and I guess the Foredom hand piece fits it if you want to upgrade. Read the reviews on their site and decide for yourself. $50 isn't too bad, far less than the Foredom and if you like the tool and want the Foredom you can use the cheep one as a backup. Hope this helps.
