Floor Jack Pad

I've got a Pittsburg 3 ton floor jack and looking for a pad to so sit in the cup that gives me a flat surface to jack from. Everything I've seen online and fits over the cup and compress in the middle.

Does anyone have a recommendation? Basically something like a solid hockey puck sitting inside the cup. Thanks!

We don't know the details of what you are jacking but...50 yrs of using floor jacks and maybe 10 times I needed a completely flat pad. Most times the angle of the jack point changes as the jack goes up and those small outer edge ridges help keep the jack from sliding out of position. When I did need a flat pad I used a piece of 2x4 or 1/2" plywood or osb.

Good suggestion from tin man. They're cheap, usually come in packages of 3, and hard to destroy.

Those are the hockey pucks......a few variations around but still really all the same.

This is the one I have. The bottom has a smaller OD that sits inside the cup of the jack, so the "puck" is fully supported, not bridging the cup and collapsing into under load.

I have the one Jay has. It can be a bit of a pain to line up the slot with the pinch weld, but it does the job well once that is accomplished.

An affordable 3d print would be easy to fit the ticket. If you can design it and have a friend print it out of TPU that is your best solution. If you have a 3d printer then design it and print it yourself. I made one my self in design but have not bothered to print it yet because all my garbage is not nice or deserving of a pad.

OP, why is it that a 2x4 cut to fit inside the lip of the cup won't work?

I use a bridge bearing pad (aka 'Elastomeric Bearing Pad') that was given to me my a family member who builds/repairs bridges for the state DOT. It'll bend/flex under load but always returns to its original shape. It will last a lifetime as a jack pad.

I very often put a block of wood on the jack. It adds to the reach and eliminates possible metal on metal. Have a big assortment of blocks, from 1/2 inch to 6 inches thick.

I use rubber tire pads cut from used racing slicks . They bite down into the jack saddle and do not mar anything you are jacking under.

I use a pinch weld piece like THIS on top of a hockey puck.
