Floor over floor?

Now that I have a detached garage, I have been looking at the attached garage on my house with an eye towards increasing living space. The floor is about 24 inches below the house floor level, its a DIY pour, but decently smooth. Walls are insulated, so forth. What I was thinking was to have radiant heat piping laid on top of the existing concrete then have 3 more inches poured on top. Is there any problem with this? Its only a 20 x 24 so it shouldn't need a very big water heater, I think. Never messed with radiant heat, so any opinions are welcome. Thanks

I'd overlay the existing concrete with a vapor barrier first then add 2x4's flat as sleeper joists and install rigid insulation between the joists. Then go with a wood floor and radiant tubes and a finished floor. If you are going for real living space that is and comfort.

What's the foundation of the garage and how is it built ? Did you consider framing up a floor rather than pouring a new floor ?

..... I see mrramsey has mentioned that as well.

Do you have accessibility to connect to the existing duct work of the home ?
