Today I bought a broken Fluke 87 multimeter for 7,50 euro's( $10).
It was dead when I got it, but luckily it was an easy fix.
A lot of times the fuse is broken, but that was not the case.
When I pulled it apart, I saw that the battery-leads where loose.
After some soldering, it came to life.
Then there was a second problem, a common problem with the older fluke's.
It had a bad display. I remembered something I read on our fine forum, about this problem.
So after cleaning the contacts, the display looked like new.
I was wondering when the Fluke 87 mark 1 was produced. I think it was somewhere in the nineties.
Thanks!
