The truck is a 47 IHC kb-1 its a long term project. But hope to put back in rotation by Christmas.
I'm 36, married, 4 kids. I'm an electrician, firefighter, shadetree mechanic, apprenticed blacksmith.
I am interested in the "old school" methods and techniques. I feel that there is a huge skills gap forming in modern society. No one young is willing to learn, so no one experienced is teaching.
well I'M willing to learn! I have won countless beer bets by challenging some hot shot I can weld aluminum with OA better than they can with a tig.
That's cause I made friends with a retired aircraft mechanic in his 80's who was kind enough to share his trade. That's why I love the Internet and forums like this. It is by far the best use of technology, to bring experienced professionals and " been there, done that " guys who know better from a life time of trial and error. To a place where they can share their life experience with young kids and wannabes.
If they only make your weekend project a little easier its still worth it.
I also believe in the mantra " right tool for the job" that's probably why I have more tools than space to store them!
