That roller is a Snap-on, and uncommon if not rare. That's a "you ****" deal for sure!

Sent from my LGL41C using Tapatalk

I was going to post this just now, but see the CL elves here beat me to it. Great deal for sure, but is that lower box really a SnapOn? The handles seem to lean toward Matco for me, never seen them on SO before. Either way it's a really nice setup, and the price is hard to beat.

The top in contrast, does look like a SnapOn, with the 'Yorktown' a rebadge?

Surface Grinder - $300 OBO

01212_hh0kl9J2K2u_600x450.jpg

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/tls/d/surface-grinder/6447146624.html

I don't know much about surface grinders nor do I have a need for one. However, I'm assuming that this is a good deal seeing as how I've never seen one posted for less a $1000~.

Harig is an excellent american company and sell at premium prices, just look at there 5c ULTRA-GRIND prices. If the grinding tolerance was good thorough the x-y range, good bearings and the magnetic plate was strong then someone is totaling stealing it. That one also has has a small footprint. Looks like it's a 612 model without it's base.

I would have been all over that if it had been in my hood.

Looks like she already sold.

Here's another good deal. I have only seen one other one for cheaper and that was for $200. I believe it's a unisaw and even the older ones are still hovering around $500 on craigslist/garage sales around here.

Michael,

Your not spamming, you're doing exactly what this thread is about, having said that your posts are quite annoying. They're not the most enjoyable to read as they're frustratingly a wee bit too far away from me and forces me to just sit on the sidelines like the most of us who are not in the SF Bay Area to take advantage of them but please don't stop your doing well.

The band saw is actually an excellent deal, very desirable and not the typical delta band saw, they typically sell on eBay for $600, sometimes for much more. It's model #28-380. That one has the multi-speed jackshaft option (pic below) included giving you very slow speeds to cut metal but can also be used for wood. Those band saws are far more valuable than typical Delta band saws and it looks complete with fence and in excellent condition.

The tool chest is very cool, while the micrometers aren't worth very much; I'm betting that there are some nice cherries hiding inside those drawers making it easily worth $100. Also betting the tool chest will clean up nicely and would look great on the workbench.

Keep up the good work, those are some very nice finds but to keep your post less annoying, can you please just try to find more like this near me?

You're too funny macgee.
Yeah, IIRC arn't you about 500 miles from Northern Cali?
How do you think it feels being on the wrong coast all together............LOL
BTY, OT, but I lived in Fullerton for a while, and In Anaheim Ca. for a wile, Circa 1977.
back on topic, I have the same band saw, same era, guy didn't know what He had I guess,
Gave a Whole $125.00 for it, about 6 years ago.
Assigned it to metal only though, as I have a Circa 1967 wood only delta 14"
don't like to mix metal cutting and wood cutting on same machine either.
Both sweet saws!

I have that same drill press. Nice for my little shop.
Yeah, Guys at OWWM say they "flex" somewhat, but I don't have personal experience with that tool.......IMO, it would be fine for woodworking, But I can only guess.
Guy had one about an hour or so away, IIRC was asking ~ $125.00-$150.00??
I asked him something about it, week so so later he contacts me,
offered it to me for $50.00,
told Him I would take it, but don't recall what happened, but I "dropped the ball on it" somehow..............
Do you use yours for woodworking?
notice any "flex in yours?:headscrat

How often do you see free and Lista used in the same sentence?
Curb alert...hard to believe this is just tossed out.
To say that it is probably gone already is a comic understatement. (Ad is 3 hours old on a Saturday)

sorry Macgee...this one is even further away. I know you are a big Lista fan. :(
If it was close to me, you wouldn’t see this posted here!

Thanks to LutzTD who posted this a few minutes ago in another thread...I thought it belongs here too.

O Contraire, Thank you for posting I actually have a house very close by (5 mins) and told the tenant to go pick it up. However, you are correct I would be shocked if it's still there but you never know. It is FL and sadly probably picked up for scrap $.

At least the guy is honest enough to say that they are past their expiration date.

if you find yourself with fire extinguishers that are beyond their date, a lot of fire departments (certainly most volunteer departments) will take them for use in training.

while it is not clear to me that they lose any ability just because they become one month older, it is not something you want failing on your when you need it.

this PSA bought to you by the person who replaced 23 fire extinguishers in the summer of 2016, and didnt know what to do with them, until he because enlightened.

There is no "expiration date" on fire extinguishers, there is only a manufacture date... Talking to the company that comes out ever year to inspect / re-tag ours in our commercial facility, there is nothing wrong with older ones as long as they still have pressure. Commercial codes only allow an extinguisher to be 12 years old before it has to be replaced. I would gladly take any free extinguishers that are within a reasonable age, especially if they were stored in-doors... I found one once dated from the 70's (still had pressure though)... that's a little *too* old for my tastes...

Can't complain with free extinguishers. I'd much rather get an older Ansul and bring it somewhere to be tested and recharged than some of the new junk at the stores.

if this is what you are doing with older ones, that is great.

considering when you need fire extinguisher, betting that a 20 year old one will still work because a gauge still says it is charged, but the solids inside might have turned into a brick, is a risk i am not really comfortable with.

i have only discharged fire extinguishers a few times in my life, i was glad they were there, and i would not have been happy if they had failed.

NICE FIND MOOSE !

If you can use that cabinet better hurry up before the scrappers grab it. The brass alone looks to be worth more than $100 in scrap. I bet most of those fittings are useable for the right guy.

Yeah those assortment of fittings might be very usable for somebody, but I have no idea what I could possibly use in there! The cabinet alone would be cool to have. Strip it, repaint it, maybe bend some of those drawer tabs back straight, and it would make a nice little parts cabinet.

For those who do woodworking, here's a Powermatic 66 Tablesaw for $200. Will probably need a little work, but for the price I would be all over it if I had the room.

That’s a screaming deal. Three phase but you can use a VFD to convert single phase. Biesemeyer style fence will need replacement sides but that’s not a big deal. Motor looks like 3-5 HP.

He also has a Delta drill press for $100

you can Say That Again,
anytime you can get a uni or a PM 66 for under $300.00, Go for it!
I paid $569.00 for mine, but it was Plug and play!!
(Don't ask me where he got that price.....LOL.....a little random.....)
I was expecting to pay around $500.00 and have to rebuild one.

It was funny in a way,
Actually it was on craigslist, And I had a Few Extra Bucks,
But I was in the hospital, Was going to be there a while.
I called the Guy, just for S&G's, we ended up shooting the breeze for about an hour. (about tools and machines)
Just had a good feel/vibe so to speak from the man, did something I normally wouldn't do, But I brought it sight unseen.:scared:
Saw turned out to be just fine, and he had just replaced the bearings and belts, painted it with some industrial (hard) 2 part paint.
can't remember what it was called, IIRC, he said it was pretty toxic, had to wear a special mack, and so on.
And he put bearings in the motor too , IIRC. (1 HP Bullet, single phase!)
He did an excellent job on the resto.
real nice guy too.
I ended up buying my arbor press off of him at a later date.
he built the stand for the Arbor press, and did an excellent job on the stand too!:pimpflash
