I'm not sure how great a deal these are, but I've never come across forging equipment before.

Our capitalist system is based off of some entity buying something for a lower price and selling it for a higher price. I know the degrees of separation are closer when it's your local Craigslist (and the person first to the deal has no real supply chain / valuable skills) or other marketplace but it occurs to me it's no different that WalMart buying cucumbers for $.10 and selling them for $.60.

Wait until you have a family member with dementia taken advantage of by a flipper and you will get it. Flippers add no value to the system. They add no value to the product they sell. They just take advantage of a situation.

Cucumber farmers have no distribution, marketing ability, no storefront. That cucumber is only worth $0.10 sitting on their property. This guy just transported it to the city next door, placed it on a slightly different online platform, and marked it up by 600%.

Is that any different than all retail? Walmart pays $1 for something and sells it for $4. Just like happens with flippers, though, we get access to something we otherwise could not get. Even with that markup that seems large, Walmart makes a profit but is not "getting rich" due to all the costs and expenses involved in getting that product to us.

This is an interesting discussion but probably off-topic for this thread. I'd like to continue the discussion so I set up another thread, please join me there.

I've been trying to avoid this subject and this thread is not for this topic but have to agree with Bubinga and others that have posted above.

This thread is to share and help fellow members improve there shop with a score, finding a sweet deal and share it with them, of course not all are a score or cheap but a lot of them are. I like the idea of helping someone being able to find them something new they can afford and help improving there shop, start new hobbies and make some useful & satisfying things. It's not about take, take, take as I'm hearing some above saying is ok.

Speaking for myself and I wouldn't be surprised if the others who regularly post here trying to help other members have the same opinion: I'm definitely not here to spend my personal time hunting deals to help others flip it and take away a potential tool for a new fellow member starting off or help an old standing member score something they need or have been looking for. I've been on the receiving end of this and cant tell you how thankful I am with a score that has been shared.

If you want to flip, go do your own homework, hunting and earn the score, improve the item, be a good & honorable, fair seller; that is our capitalist system. Not being lazy, piggy backing someone else's work, then slap a new sticker with a higher price on it.

Sadly, in my area there's a lot of flipping going on trying to attain crazy high prices and not even checking if the items even work properly. In my area, If the item has a price of $0, it's usually our regular flippers trying to draw you in but has a high price.

I'll try not go off topic again and instead I would love to see the new people who been chiming in recently about this subject to please find some good tool deals in there own area and post them on here to help fellow members. Doing things like that is why GJ has been so great and useful.

RARE Walker Turner/Dayton 1311-32 Radial Arm Drill press -$400 (lancaster)

The ad says a Dayton but pretty sure this is one of the very desirable Walker Turner Radial Drill Press's that rarely come up for sale and even more rare at this price thats If it's working properly, then this is a score. Looks like its been posted a while so who knows. Looks like they added a speed reducer.

"SELLING THIS HEAVY DUTY MACHINE SHOP DRILL PRESS IT IS EXTREMELY HEAVY AND SOLID METAL IT WORKS GREAT"

Dufour Type 51 Horizontal Mill w/Auto Feeds - $500 (Torrance, CA)

For someone who's looking for an inexpensive horizontal mill, this maybe worth checking out, made in France and people like them. It takes a No. 40 milling arbor and the two overarms and arbor mounting bracket is there as well (on backwards). Probably cant get for less as they want to gone fast. They're not as big as it looks in the ad pics. Good smallish shop size. They make a universal vertical head for it as well, thats pretty common to see on these.

Logan 200 10" Lathe - $500 (Sherman Oaks)

If it is really complete, has all the gears for threading, tooling and the new bearings were installed correctly then seems like a really good price. I can see the tool post in box and motor overhead motor mount bracket. Posted 3 hrs ago

Have a Logan 200 lathe I picked up as a project last year. Got it disassembled and cleaned and haven't had the time to finish it up. I replaced the headstock bearings and one gear with a few chipped teeth, otherwise everything is in great shape. Includes all the change gears, 2 chucks, and an assortment of random tooling. Lathe is complete, just needs some work to get running again.

6" x 48" Belt/12" Disc Combo Sander/grinder, 2HP - $75 (W. Los Angeles, CA)

If I only had the space, so posting in hopes a GJ member jumps of this before a flipper does. It will not last the day, sellers number is posted in ad. Total steal at $75

Pretty much identical to Grizzly's $800 combo and this comes with extra's and looks complete with both tables and miter gauge.

"Cal-Cut, made in Taiwan, model AS-612, bearings that spin forever and a disc that runs true.
The machine is currently wired for 240V but can be converted back to 120V, as it was when I purchased it"

Looks like it's already long gone and I should have jumped on this when I first saw it but I hope at least a GJ member was able to get it? Like you said, they're beasts!

It would be really good if people see a post in this thread and was able to buy the item; If you did, Please let us know when you get something on here?

Would be nice to know if this thread is helping?

Unimat SL 200 lathe w/Auto feed & Milling adapter -$315 (Pomona, CA)

Comes with power feed (that alone often sells for $200) and Milling attachment. Doesn't look in the best condition but with with attachments above, the price is good especially if there's more tooling & chucks not shown in the pics and it cleans up well.

"Works great. Has milling attachment."

Looks in good condition with lots of tooling, big bonus that you don't see often on these is having DRO and quick change tool post. Go get it, not my favorite but a good starter machine and this will go fast for $300

1 X 42" Belt Sander- Disc Grinder Combo -$10 (Garden Grove, CA)

Basically free and looks in fairly good shape other than the easy power switch fix, although could also be the motor but thats super easy as well to swap out with an old drill press motor or higher rpm motor. The Delta-Rockwell version of these go for big money. I think the disc is 8" dia.
