Frozen tight - and had two grind marks on it - but for 99 cents I figured it was worth grabbing.
Shoot - took much more than a dollars worth of solvent to clean. I think I got taken!:lol_hitti

Any guess on the age from the model number?

From collecting Snap On-1937-46 and I think there's a date code between the on/off of 1940.

Lucky. My goodwill sells all the tools online. The only tool I have found there is a pickle fork and it was in the cooking utensils area lol [emoji23] when I picked it up and put it my buggy everyone asked what it was for and then took the pickle fork part literally.

Thanks for all the suckage, guys.

Got the tool to function. Has a tooth or two that are fairly worn but it ratchets fine. I figured Snappy would have the kit for it.

Fits the hand well. I think I might actually use it.

My goodwill sells plastic bags of random tools. Some old codger passes away and the entire garage gets donated. Then somebody in the back of the Goodwill randomly takes sockets and screwdrivers and other misc. hex keys and throws them into plastic bags marked $5.99 to $15.99 each, breaking up any full sets of tools that might have come in.

I have bought a few 1930s-40s vintage snapon tools there, but I had to buy about 6 bags ($50-60) to get them, and the rest of the stuff in the bags is low-grade **** tools like you typically find at yard sales. So I am not really sure that it was worth it looking back. I don't really need antique tools and by the time I try to resell them and ship, I doubt I'll even get my money back. YMMV
