Lol. I'm well aware. I've owned many "modern vehicles". And still own a few. How is it different? You'll find out when you have to pay hundreds of dollars to find out how much oil is in the car. O2, knock, crank position, oil temp, coolant temp etc sensor failures won't damage the car. The ECU will compensate or just shut down. Seems silly to me to put a sensor on oil level. Just another example of over engineering something simple.Modern vehicles have many, many sensors, they all "don't last forever", how is an oil level sensor any different than the other critical sensors in the engine bay? Some will cost a lot more than a few hundred dollars to address, and could have significantly more consequence than the oil level.
