It's a free wrench and you all thought it would be delivered ASAP, or that was to be expected? :p

Be patient and relax.

I got mine today. I signed up in the second round.

It looks pretty nice to my amateur eye. Thanks to Eastwood!

that means definitely not USA... if it was, they would have made sure to put it on the wrench or package.

Shocker!

Let's see.

1. It was free

2. They shipped it free

3. It says Chrome Vandium on it

4. The chrome does not look like **** so it must not be low-end Danaher USA

Even if it said "EASTWOOD USA" on it, I would assume it was made in China or at best Taiwan.

Were people here really thinking they'd get a Made in USA wrench?

What does the front of the packaging look like? Does it have a UPC bar code?

If it is in a made for retail packaging with a UPC and not a promotional only item, by law it should at a minimum have a COO sticker on it.

Did they have you on the mailing list for the catalog? Or did this come seperate on its own?
I order from Eastwood maybe twice year for restoration rustproofing stuff. Well I was expecting the wrench to come around the time they send their monthly/quarterly catalog out, but i got nothing except the catalog. I guess they are sending them out when they get around to it.

No. It is a promotional packaging.

This was the first time I have ever contacted Eastwood. I am relatively close to them physically though, but I can't imagine that would matter for this promotion. It came in a entirely unmarked flat mailer. No indication it was from Eastwood on the outside. I would guess it was actually mailed by a promotions company working on behalf of Eastwood. The interesting thing is I didn’t think I would get one at all. After filling out the survey I did not get a email confirmation like others did. I am pretty sure that they got the email address correct because I just started receiving Eastwood emails.

got mine today, the mechanism is a little loose but that might be by design. Overall the chrome is nice and the ratchet mechanism is smooth.

I received mine today as well. Not a bad wrench. I put it on par with GearWrench.

I got mine today also. It came in a stiff cardboard envelope with no return address. It looks similar to the Gearwrench ratchet wrenches. It works for me!

if its as good as gearwrench, it should be a good tool. as much as i hate foreign tools, i have not had any issues with gearwrench.

Got it, like it, would buy a set. Except...

You can't get a complete (no skips) in the Eastwood brand. The Metric set goes 8,10,12,13,15,18. I use the 14 and 17 quite a bit.

So, then you start checking the site and they have a set of wrenches from Channellock that appear to be the exact same as the Eastwood. Not as wide a range, but no skips (well, 11mm) and a better price.

Kind of *****, as I really would like to get a set of the Eastwoods.

Received mine, looks pretty nice, I use 10mm a lot so I'm glad to have it. Interesting that Eastwood is having their own private labelled tools. I wonder who actually makes these for Eastwood?

Yes that's odd they would exclude 14mm and 17mm, I mean same here, those are some of my most commonly used sizes. Subaru uses 10mm 12mm 14mm 17mm 19mm 22mm mostly, and have never seen 11mm 13mm 15mm 18mm 20mm or 21mm on a Subaru anyway; not sure if the other Japanese makes use those sizes or not.

I will say in general I think Eastwood's chemicals are pretty good. I've tried a few things from them and have been pretty impressed. That said they do seem to get a slightly premium price, but I guess if it works well it's still a good value.

Yah I think that 20% is a bit of a game, what I believe it is, is 20% off the items listed on that page you go to (not 20% off any item).

i wondered that... but it does say "any order"

the asterick refers to limited time only...so maybe this was on their first set of giveaways!?

Hm not sure really, I think they have other coupon codes out there, I remember my first order I think they had a 15% off and free shipping or something like that, but that was a few years ago.

I got mine today and I'm not too impressed. Having Gearwrench and my taiwan Craftsman (came in a 309 piece kit) to compare it to, it doesn't really compare. The action feels much cheaper than Gearwrench, and knowing I can warranty them at Sears or Advance Auto I wouldn't take the chance on ordering Eastwood online.

I am appreciative of the fact they sent the thing to me for absolutely nothing, but there's some stiff competition floating around with Gearwrench stamped on them! And they have a head start and a very good reputation to compete with.

Those are good points. My guess is Eastwood has a semi-loyal following of customers with a decent brand name, and they are probably figuring they can make sales to those customers? But right, just entering the market with just another tool name that is obviously a private label of something else without knowing who or COO is probably not going to fly in the general marketplace.

It looks nicer than GW. The box end is well formed and isnt fat. The Taiwan GW are that way but the chinese ones are notabely fatter around the box ends.
