Received email wanting me to follow link to re-signup for their email list to get item. No thanks
"Hi Felipe,
Unfortunately, somebody hacked our last email blast so we want to verify your request for the free 11th Finger push stick. Please go to this link to re-subscribe to our weekly eBlasts. To verify that you are a legitimate woodworker, we are going to ask you what kind of table saw that you have. This offer is only good through end of day March 13, 2015, so don’t delay. Thanks, Paul Akers ([email protected]))
FastCap's 11th Finger "
i got this same email a week or so ago. Followed the link and filled it out again. I received a shipping confirmation yesterday, so they are fulfilling the orders if you went back and completed it fully including the saw you are using.
I just went to look in my email.
I received the email on 03/11 at 7:45 pm, and it says I had until 03/13 to sign back up again. So basically 2 days to sign up again.
That doesn't seem right to only give 2 days. It looks like they did that to get out of sending the free item.
I'm going to send them an email that this is not enough time. This kind of leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, I guess they just lost me as a potential customer.
I never got a shipping confirmation for my 11th finger, I did resubmit too. That said, I got an email from them that had a $10 off coupon code so I just bought one and paid the 2something in shipping.
Dude , it was a free item, they didnt have to run the promo in the first place. 2 days is more than enough time to check email and respond to it. They did that because they dont have enough items to give to everyone that signed up, so in mind the best way to weed out people is to first get rid of the ones that provided a throw away email, and B) get rid of the non wood workers. Next time provide a real email address that you actually check and you might receive your free stuff.
I got the Hacked message as well, saw it a day late but said "eh, why not" and filled it back out. Haven't recieved anything else since, but whatever, I'm out a few minutes of my GJ surfing time... OhTheHugeManatee!!!!!
For those complaining they didn't cater to your needs, get over it, you aren't their only customer they have to deal with, and you probably never would have been one anyway. My company does a lot of freebie stuff as well, you wouldn't believe the ways some find to get more than their allotted quantity, and when they don't get it BEFORE the expected arrival window, even though we send them tracking numbers, they call customer service complaining.
Free stuff is just that, free, if I don't get it, I don't get it, not going to waste my breath or time complaining about it. And most times when free stuff comes in the mail it is like Christmas since it is usually months(one time over a year) after I have forgotten about it.
Seriously people, it was a free offer. Get over it. More than likely they received a huge amount of requests, many more than they expected. Mainly due to websites like this which give much more exposure to the offer than the company probably expected. So I think it's very plausable they thought maybe something had been hacked and they didn't want to send out a lot of product to possible bogus addresses or something similar. If situations such as this will keep you from doing business with a company, it won't be long until you can't purchase a product anywhere.
I'm hoping I receive this product. If not, what am I out? One minute of my life filling out the form. I've wasted more time typing this reply than I spent on the offer.
Jeez, it's another SK free hat and catalog in the making... I think it's terrible that some people decide to do business with a company or not based on how they handle a free product giveaway. I like "free" as much as anyone, but I also keep in perspective that I get what I pay for.
I'll be sending them business!
I haven't received a confirmation email, and I did reply to the second email from them...![]()
