A guy at work was telling me that some tool companies would send you a ratchet repair kit free if you need one. I had never heard this before. Anyone know about this? If one of my Snap On ratchets were to wear out would they send me a rebuild kit?

Depends on the info you tell them.

They may ask where you got it. If you bought it yourself new then they would likely take care of their customer.

Before someone says they are Free Free Free, that’s not the same for every case.

Dang wow! I totally forgot about this! Just went out and found that broken SK ratchet in my tool box. Unbelievable. There is a brand new ratchet rebuild kit with it. I guess I got it and never put it together. You guys will have to forgive me, my wife has been ill

Nutsnbolts, glad you found your replacement parts for your ratchet. Hope your wife is better. I know that some things can slip when you have bigger items on your plate. Good luck to you.

On another note, I have a Craftsman ratchet that need a repair kit. Since Sears Canada is extinct where can I go to purchase a suitable replacement part?

If you buy a ratchet with a warranty then you can likely get a repair kit , if its serviceable. It can work out much cheaper for the supplier to just send you a whole new tool at times.

It can be easier to just buy a new tool now and then, how often do you break a ratchet anyway?
