oh yeah...
Don't worry I get it I have had my S14 intake sitting in the basement mounted on a floor joist for years. One day I'll get mine installed too, lol

Bought mine I think in 2012 from Jed.

Really like that water hose reel.

I’m trying....took it out a few times this week, actually! It literally leaves a smile on my face every single time I drive it. It needs a wash, so hoping I can get that done sometime over the long weekend.

And thanks, man! That would be much appreciated! Yeah the new MTM bottle is a much better design. Unfortunately, I don’t think I can send you a direct affiliate link to that item. My link just brings you to the store, and then you’d just have to search for it and add it to your cart. I will say searching on the OG website works very well, so it should be super easy for you.

The plug is intended for those who have their hoses on a Cox hose reel. There’s always a little bit of water left over in the hose after disconnecting from guns and wands, so to help prevent any spilling or drippage while reeling in the hose, this quick connect plug can be added. Somewhat unnecessary, but also inexpensive, so I figured why the hell not?! [emoji23]

Hope you and the family are doing well!

Roger that. I was about to order last night until I saw shipping was the same cost as the replacement bottle. I think I’ll wait for the OG tire dressing to become available so I can add that to my order too!

And we’re doing good. Taking advantage of quarantine to get some stuff done around the house so I can put it behind me and be ready to enjoy the summer when it finally rolls around.

I can see a CSL Carbon Fiber intake being a future "bonus" gift to myself!

And not sure if you are referring to the Cox Hose Reel (blue one) or the Eley garden hose reels that I added, but either way, they all rock!

Ha, it's available now (or at least it was last time I checked...it may have since sold out)! But I totally get it. I appreciate your willingness to help a fellow GJ/OG member out!

I hear that! We are really hoping to get our basement finishing project started soon. I was originally going to try and do it (Shaun = not handy) along with my father-in-law (John = very handy), but my sister-in-law just bought a house and he's been crazy busy helping her out, so I may have lost him as a resource, at least in the short-term. So I have a buddy from high school who owns his own "Home Solutions" business coming over Friday to give me a ballpark on our basement.

I know I've said it on your thread, but your shed came out killer!

Finally had a chance to wash the M3 for the first time (later than I'd prefer) Monday night. Almost forgot how much fun it is to wash this car, due to its size and the existing paint protection. The Collinite 845/Power Lock combo I applied last spring is still really holding up well; benefits of being parked in the garage and a summer car. I am trying to up my detailing photography as part of my M3 Instagram page to recruit some more followers, so here are some shots I took that evening:

Was finally able to get my hands on a hammer drill from my old neighbor and get my second Eley Hose Reel mounted up in the back of the house. Man these things are STOUT! Highly recommend them to anyone considering purchasing. Stop buying cheap, plastic reels and spend the money. Do it once, do it right!

I also got around to a project I had been meaning to for a while. Cleaning the extremely dirty vinyl fence in the backyard with my pressure washer. Some before/during/after shots:

And lastly, I got impatient and wanted to see what the pressure washer hose looked like all mounted up on my Cox hose reel. I still don't have water in the garage (hoping the plumber can come out mid-June, at this point), or a jumper hose, so I'll have to remove the hose from the reel next time I wash a vehicle. But man is this sweet:

And gotta rep OG, of course:

And a few shots of the M, because why not?!:

Have you thought about some Depo clear corners for the M?
Just mentioning them, because I had them on my Silver gray car. Also they would tie in the black kidney grills.
Not that it doesn't look good meow...

Um no, only because my corners are already clear, and OEM. So win/win! Unless you're referring to smoked corners?!? And if so, that's a good suggestion, but I think I want to keep it, as is. Even though I still need to remove and reinstall the front lip for better fitment, I really dig the front end of this car as it's really come together. Until I go with a Mile End Composites CSL Bumper at some point down the road, of course.

I found a pic. With a model as well...
This was when I picked it up from the friend that bought it from me to send to Texas for another friend.

Your daughter is adorable. And awesome, man, thanks for sharing!

Great shots. I need to step my game up. Haha.

Ha, I got lucky that evening. Our house faces due North, so we typically get some cool sunsets down the end of our cul-de-sac. And those were with my iPhone 11 Pro Max. Still haven't taken the Canon 40D out of my photo backpack....maybe one day.

Some minuscule updates:

1) The grass around my septic tank riser has really grown in very well. It almost looks back to normal:

\

49981650113_21ec352b07_c.jpg

2) I got my jumper hose from OG and even though I don't have plumbing in the garage just yet (soon, hopefully!), I ran a hose to my exterior bib and gave my garage setup it's first trial run. And I'm happy to report there were absolutely NO leaks anywhere! Granted, that was during a 20 second test run. The true test will be the first car I wash, hopefully this weekend:

49989122801_93fde338b9_c.jpg

3) After months of promising my oldest son that we could start to "modify" his Ford Raptor Power Wheels vehicle, I went ahead and got started. I've got an LED lighting kit in the mail on its way to my house, which he and I will install together. Yesterday, I decided to spray the bed liner with some Rust-Oleum Truck Bed Coating:

All scuffed up and taped and ready for paint:

49989542823_7a0a265d8f_c.jpg

49990064881_9598c65573_c.jpg

And the finished product, after 1 light initial coat and 2 heavier coats (which used up the entire can):

49988603888_22a12741b8_c.jpg

When he got home from my in-laws, I told him what I had done and he asked to go in the garage to look at it. As he walked up to the truck, I got a long, drawn out "cooooooool" from him, which made it all worth it!

Very much looking forward to the lighting, as that was his very next question after seeing the bed. Granted, he doesn't know I already ordered it. Should arrive tomorrow!

Great job getting your son involved in modifying his toys at an early age! I remember the power wheels days when my kids were younger. The Power Wheel mods are a deep hole to go down and there are guys doing some crazy things with them. Simple things like the bedliner and adding lights make playing with them so much more fun for the kids (and the adults if we're being honest!)

Haha that is awesome. My dad and I are about to start repairing and modding the BMWs I got the twins. The LED headlights dont look "period correct" and I think we are going to build a "4 post lift" for storing them.

That's the goal!! I'm hoping to get started on the lights this week with him. Then we'll see what's next. Maybe a couple of American flags at the rear of the truck and a horn, then go from there.

Definitely makes it more fun for the adults!

OK so now I have proof that something weird is occasionally happening with this thread. It's happened before, but I didn't have proof of it, so couldn't actually verify it. But now I have proof. Prior to this post being saved, the date from the last (aka most recent) post shows 6/15/20. However, I absolutely updated this thread AFTER that with the news of me finally getting water run into the garage (pretty certain @mpower5266 and @dubber both responded to it....and those responses are missing, too). Here you can actually see me getting a notification of Mpower5266 responding to my thread on 6/29 via Tapatalk on my iPhone (just about smack dab in the middle of this image):

***** that I now have to retype everything. I wonder why this keeps randomly happening to me. Probably the 3rd time that I've noticed it, so who knows how many more times it's happened.

Since I'm still annoyed, I'll keep my v2.0 updates short. Driveway FINALLY got a topcoat. After waiting months for a contract from the guy I was originally going with, I ended up contacting another company and they came in a little cheaper (win!) than the first guy.

A reminder of how crappy my driveway was prior to the top coat:

On a completely unrelated note. Any other fans of The Last of Us here? Still the best game I've EVER played in my lifetime. And the sequel is amazing, up to the point I'm at in the game. Well worth the long, long wait:

Yep, same problem here.

Incredibly annoying.

On June 27th, my plumber came by to run the water lines and help get my garage that much more legit.

I removed the nozzle holder from the SunJoe assembly and was able to screw it directly to the wall for easy storage:

And I relocated my towel holder bar over to a more inconspicuous area, where it blends in almost seamlessly:

A close up of the Viega Pro Press fittings, in case anyone cared:

I then had to figure out either another location for the OG Hex logo, or a new solution for mounting in it's current locale. I opted to use a 15" x 15" piece of plywood, which I painted to match the walls:

Next up in the very short term for the garage is to do the same thing with my SunJoe SPX3000 that was done here:

https://scontent-lga3-1.**.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/106985340_3060042280711741_6079278901203084256_n.jpg?_nc_cat=110&_nc_sid=07e735&_nc_ohc=5IDTx99D8ncAX-Ul6wl&_nc_ht=scontent-lga3-1.**&oh=e54d4655297479012a4a49aaff032290&oe=5F290449

Remove the body of the pressure washer and mount the motor on a stainless shelf above the Cox hose reel with some anti-vibration clamps. And I like the idea of the power switch on the shelf, as well. I had never thought to do any of this until seeing this post on the OG Facebook group, which was brilliant!

I saw that. It looks interesting and a lot better with out all the "packaging."

Agreed. I'm just somewhat concerned about the noise level without all that packaging. But luckily the houses on my street are all spaced out very well, so my neighbors shouldn't be an issue.

Almost forgot. Even though we opted to wait on the garage sink (the plumber said it would be much easier to tie it into the basement bathroom once we start on that), here is where I test fit it and where it will be located:

I have the same problem with my thread. I saw it one day, but couldn't get to it to fix it. Guess I'll go do that meow.

I need a stainless sink like that in my mud room to replace the plastic unit.

That driveway looks nice and slick.

Here is the sink I went with, if you were interested. You really can't beat the price.

And yep, there's nothing quite like the look of a freshly paved driveway. It will literally never look as good as it does those first few days once you get cars on it and start washing cars and what not.

Cowboys??? Dallas???

Just messing, they do look like a nice set regardless of the design you put on top.

Houstonian

I know, I know...I debated even sharing that! But I had no choice. My dad is a Cowboys fan and if I wanted a roof over my head then so was I!

Yep, they aren't cheap, so it's a bit of an "investment". But I figure I'll have them for the next umpteen years+ and you can just feel the quality of them when you carry them around. Super solid and the bags are nice, because one side is slick to slide a bit and the other has more of a "grabby" material, so it sticks when it lands.

Wow! Lots of updates. Everything looks spectacular. You must be really excited to get all of that plumbing banged out. What a luxury to have that setup ready to go anytime you want to wash your cars. Driveway looks awesome too, things really cleaned up nicely with that. Should have had them add the apron in for that 3rd bay while they were at it :)

Also, anxious to see what your new ride is going to be to replace the Honda! Not sure which direction you'll take things.

Haha, yep. I know I'd be better off spacing out my updates, but I can't help myself sometimes! I'm BEYOND pumped about the plumbing in the garage. It's not quite up to par with typical OG quality, but I'm incredibly happy with my setup. And it'll only get better once I eventually upgrade my pressure washer...but I'll tell you, my SunJoe has been worth every penny up to this point.

HA!! Love where your head's at, but the 3rd stall addition is probably at LEAST 5 years away from happening, especially since we just decided on a contractor to finish our basement. We cut a check for the deposit on Friday and now we wait. Looking like end of September for a start date, with COVID pushing everything back for everyone. *****, as we were hoping to have it done by September, but he says the project should only take 3-4 weeks (on the conservative end) once it begins.

As for my next vehicle, I was racking my brain for months and months and finally decided on something. Not quite ready to announce it just yet, but soon!!! That said, here is a photo of the first thing I purchased for it even though I probably won't have it in my possession until around September. Let's see if anyone can figure it out from these:

Some glamour shots of the M3 to hold you guys over, since not much else has been going on:

And a selfie (which I never do) I took while supervising the boys in their inflatable pool because I couldn't pass up the photo op:

Almost forgot. Buddy of mine came by recently to show me the ropes on paint correction. Something I've always wanted to start dabbling in, but had been somewhat hesitant (ahem, nervous) to try. He brought over his new toys, a Maxshine M15 Pro Series II 15mm DA polisher, Adam's Micro Swirl Killer and Griot's 6" DA that he put a 3" backing plate on.

We used Meguiars 105 and 205, Sonax Perfect Finish, Rupes yellow 1", 3" and 6" pads, as well as 1", 3" and 6" microfiber pads. He helped me get rid of some light scratches that had somehow developed near my trunk on the passenger side rear fender.

He had to leave early but left all his tools with me and I spent the remainder of the day basically one stepping the Accord, just trying to get it that much nicer for when it's replacement arrives and I either turn the car back into Honda or try out the Kelly Blue Book instant cash offer (basically whatever option gives me the most $ for the Accord at the time):

I got so into it that day that I went ahead and ordered the Adam's Micro Swirl Killer (I don't care what the rich folks on the OG FB page say...this thing is great, especially for the price). I'm going to order the Max Shine DA polisher, as well, but not yet. In the meantime, I'm going to use my Harbor Freight DA as both my 6" unit and my 3" unit (I've already ordered a Lake Country 3" backing plate for it). Just need to order pads and I should be good to go. Next up, the M3!!

First thought was a F80 CS style rear spoiler, but because it wraps around, it has to be a front lip.

My guess is Civic Type R or SI?

Nope, not Japanese. But I do love me the Type R. But the daily has to be automatic, so the wife can drive if and when need be. So that rules out both these cars.

Nice work.

Thanks, man! Once I got into it, I just rolled right along. Once the new daily arrives, my buddy and I plan on spending a weekend and dialing in the paint before the Jescar Powerlock/Collinite combo.

I do plan on coating the wheels, however, and thinking of going with Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light for that. Will be my first time ever messing with coatings. Not ready to try it on a car, yet. I also love the Powerlock/Collinite combo, so not much of a reason to give up on that, yet.

Coat it all! You can't go wrong with CSL+Exo

I did my S3 and wife's Crosstrek with one bottle of each. + wheels too.

I did my Apex wheels with Gyeon rim. My wagon needs a touch up so I may do Csl and exo but I do like powerlock and 845.

Until I get paint correction on a few cars under my belt, I think I'm going to stay away from coating cars. But I appreciate the input!

Did you notice a difference when washing your wheels? Does the coating make that much of a difference?

Cars look stunning, I really need to learn how to detail a car better

Thanks! I definitely could have spent much more time and done a 2 step correction on the car, but I figure it's still going to look better than 95% of leased cars upon return.

I do still have to address some rock chips that I touched up on the hood. Going to try some wet sanding with 2000 grit and then compound/polish and hopefully they'll blend in much better than they currently do.

What I should have done is follow Larry Kosilla's (Ammo NYC) guide to rock chips, but alas, I got caught up in paint correcting and decided to just have at it. Oh well. It'll be a valuable learning opportunity for when I eventually address the (many) rock chips on the M3.
