One of our customers is turning a very common wood staircase into a very special looking and grand set of stairs.

He is not finished. However, he sent us a pic to show his progress.

Here is the Legacy Industrial product line-up:
*HD-821 Epoxy Crack Filler used to fill joints, nail holes and cracks
*HD-139 Flexible Epoxy Base Coat used for a flexible base
*Full multi-colored paint-flake broadcast into the base coat
*Top coat of HD-344 Poly Aspartic Clear Coating
*Soft-Skid non-skid additive broadcasted and backrolled into topcoat

That's a creative use of floor coatings. I have a client right now that is having me do her counters in her kitchen with a metallic chip (ruby with a touch of black). It will have a copper look to it when done. Her floor will be done in black with a touch of ruby and random ruby squares cut in. I will show pictures once the project kicks off. It should be very cool.

And here is the before and after pictures on the stair case in question. I am quite pleased with the outcome... but that might be just because I have so many man-hours invested in this little project!

Very interesting. If it wasn't for the flat wood pieces sticking out a little it would look like concrete to anyone. I like it.

Very cool. I have a similar looking set of stairs and have been thinking about covering them with epoxy, but after seeing yours I'll have to strongly consider flaking them also! Thanks for the pics.

I would strongly recommend the flaking. Although it definately adds a degree of difficultly; it is toally worth it as it hides so may imperfections in the wood.

Can I still get these products? I live in Kansas City, Missouri. I have been searching for the right products to cover my interior wood stairs. Also, I have balusters I don't want to have to mess with removing. Is it possible to "paint" these products around the base of the balusters?

Mill:

Yes everything is available. Your best bet is to call us and discuss.
You can go around the balusters. However, this is not paint and will not flow like paint.

Personally, I would look at removing them if possible.
