Norb - the upper control arms are attached to the frame - there are 4 bolts holding the subframe to the frame - and the 2 engine mounts are attached to the front subframe.

Thanks.
Thanks - doesn't seem that bad, just uncomfortable. I picked up a 2000 C5 FRC, it had a clutch put in it a while back, so hopefully I won't need to drop the drivetrain anytime soon!

Not a huge update - but I finally finished the blower install on my C6 - and I had it towed to the local dyno shop to get tuned.

Also - I finally got the proper length pipe for my cheap Chinese foam cannon. It came with the right adapter for my Harbor Freight Pressure Washer - but the pipe connecting the adapter to the foam cannon was too short.

The thread on the pipe is 1/4" BST and is 2" long. I had to order it from McMaster Carr - as I couldn't find any other vendors that carried it.

I tested out the cannon with some cheap Armor All generic car soap - and it worked great.

Now for teh pics:

I got the dyno results - 580 rwhp / 523 rear torque.

I am pretty impressed - as I had no idea what it would put down.

I should get the car Friday morning - I'll post initial thoughts.

Whoa, very nice! Careful on the road with all that power available! Way too many (hillarious/scary) vids of corvette owners heading into the ditch/curb on youtube. :)

With those kind of numbers I would need a new set of rear tires after the weekend out. I'm sure it will be a blast to drive.

Thanks Norb - I think the aftermarket valve springs helped resolve any valve float that I was seeing with the L92 springs.

I still need to break in the clutch - I have a half mile event up in VA at the end of the month.

Quick update -

The half mile event ended up being cancelled due to weather - and the trailer that I had rented to get up there ended up not working out. So thankfully I stayed home and saved myself 10 hours of driving.

I got a bunch of work done to the truck before that trip.

I added a trailer brake controller, picked up a hitch ball, replaced the U-joints in the driveshaft because it was vibrating really bad at 80mph, and I ended up replacing the Power Steering pump. All that work to get the truck done - and I ended up staying home, lol.

I also bought a new Spectre cone filter for the truck, and replaced the LLY turbo mouth piece inlet - with a newer LBZ unit. The LBZ outflows the factory LLY piece - and is supposed to lower EGT's.

I will be putting a downpipe back exhaust on the truck - I will be going with a Corsa 4" kit. I have Corsa on the SS and Vette - and love there product. Thankfully there truck kit prices are not too bad.

Vette - Nothing too crazy - resolved my oiling issues by adding in a PCV valve and a catch can into the PCV system. I also replaced the Holley valve covers with GM LS9 valve covers.

I ordered a Halltech intake shroud to go around the Edelbrock air filter. This should help lower IAT's and also seperate the intake from the hot engine bay temps.

SS - ordered some spaces to fit the stock SS wheels up front with the 6 piston V brakes. I'm taking that car on vacation next month and want to be able to use my full size SS spare wheel if I need to.

Garage - nothing too crazy - I finished trimming out 2 walls with the Racedeck. I borrowed a tablesaw - and man that cut through the tiles way quicker then a jig saw!

I also noticed that my China made hydraulic hose fittings on the Maxjax were dripping. Not a huge leak - but enough that I'd clean them up and the next day they'd be looking like they where going to drip again.

I checked the Maxjax thread - and found the part numbers for the "Non-Leak" fittings.

I found them online here:
www.hydraulics-etc.com.

PN:
FFH06 38NPT M
FFH06 38NPT F

Install went pretty quick - just make sure you disconnect the hose from the hydraulic ram in the posts.

So far - no leaks - and I raised and lowered the lift about 4x.

Thanks guys!

Projects have been full swing in the shop - just replaced the heater coolant hose - it came in contact with the blower belt - and cut right into it. I ran it properly this time and should be out of the way.

Truck front diff is leaking out the vent tube - I think I overfilled the front diff when I replaced the fluid a couple weeks ago. I've cleaned up the truck fender liner - and I'm going to recheck the front fill level and see if its over filled on a flat surface.

As for the shop - I plan on installing a mini-split AC unit.
I've calculated how many BTU's I will need - and from reviewing installations online. I think I can get the wall unit mounted, the power lines run, but will probably farm out the nitrogen test, vaccuming, and the system top off.

I finally got around to making a review video of my Pressure Washer and Foam Cannon setup. Overall I am pretty happy with it - I just wished the supply hose for the pressure washer gun didn't ****. Here is the review below:

Hey guys - I finally fished up trimming out the edges of my RaceDeck install.

I was able to borrow a table saw - and it cut through the tiles like butter.

I shot some finished shots in my review here:

Very nice stuff man! I stumbled across this from your old garage... You and I have alot of common ideas, you just have the larger space ;) I am in the process of building a place, not with the luxury of adding another 10' of depth, but it will do... Also planning on parking a G8 GT in it on some RaceDeck flooring.

I really enjoyed following this, and will continue to follow!

Thanks JRodsGarage - I really enjoy the RaceDeck product - and it went down a lot easier then the Epoxy of my old shop.

I miss my G8 GT - but I do have the SS. I think the ultimate Holden would be a G8 with an SS interior - that way it combines the best of both cars.

Long time no update.

I have added a few tools to the shop - and figured I'd post an update.

First thing that I picked up as a portable band saw from Harbor Freight. I picked up their portable bandsaw.

I picked up this bandsaw so that I could cut some exhaust tubing for an upcoming project on my SS.

Here is a review of the bandsaw itself - and how I intalled a metal cutting blade.

The next tool that I picked up was a SWAG Offroad Portaband table - this mounted right to the Harbor Freight Saw. This allowed me to take my portable bandsaw and make it a vertical band saw that will fight right on my work bench.

I really like the quality of the SWAG table - and it shipped in 2 days to my house which I thought was very impressive.

Here is a review of the table, setting it up, and installing the band saw in it.

Going back through my thread - I realize that I never posted my Costco Light install video.

I installed 8 of the Costco 4' LED lights in my shop and have not had any problems with them.

Here is the main bay finished pic:

I picked up a new tool for the shop - a new belt sander from Harbor Freight.

I'll probably be using the belt sander on the exhaust fabrication work that I need to do on the SS.

Nice results. How much boost was that? Stock cam and valvesprings? Definitely a lot more low end torque than my Vortech.

Beautiful house. Really like all the brick.

3.25" pulley on my E-Force was around 9 psi. The Vette has an LS9 cam, Comp Cams 26918 springs, LS7 lifters, stock pushrods.

I'll be adding an LSA onto my SS here in the next few months - that will be stock cam and springs - for the first part of the build.

Thanks - house took forever to build - and garage felt like it took forever to get setup as well.

Those lights looks good, and the LSA in the SS will be a lot of fun. I would have liked one if they weren't so expensive, but I'm frugal and just couldn't justify it either way. Good luck with the HF sander, mine lasted about a week and the motor fried, took it back and bought an old craftsman.

Thanks man!

If my neighbor hadn't tboned my G8 - I would have never bought the SS.

But they did - and I kept most of the mods that I had done to the G8 and transferred them over to the SS.

So in the end I really can't complain.

Shop update - sort of.

I finally got off my **** and started hanging up my shop decorations.

They've been sitting in storage for 2 years - its about time I finally got them all set up.

Heres some pics.

Nice - yeah none of my cars run a front plate - so I just kept them in the goodie bag until we got home.

Only problem is - you keep going and you have to keep rearranging them!

It is cool to see all of your HRPT stuff, I'm really getting into them and will do the long haul again this year in my Cobra kit, if you do as well get in touch.

Kansas to Kentucky - I think I'm going to pass.

I have been to all the venues they are going to - and I lived not 10 mins from the venue in the Quad Cities.

That venue at the BG airport is terrible.

If the show ended at the Corvette Motorsport Park - that would have been awesome and I'd prob have gone.

Sounds good, hopefully it isn't too terrible. Last year I had to pull my trans out in Houston to remove the broken 3rd gears, drive in a rain storm with no top or windshield wipers, fried my phone and GPS, bought a new trans, replaced it when passing my house, and generally just cooked the entire day. Hoping for better results this year.

I've had these Gladiator Garageworks Cabinents in my shop for a number of years.

32566407981_e2da4e604c_b.jpg

I finally took the time to do a review of all the different cabinets that I have. The good, the bad, and what I like and dislike about the various Gladiator products. I would say that I have to prefer the Premier series that are fully welded - they are built better and easier to setup.
