Hi Gents,
I'm in the early stages of planning my shop build here in Peoria (Phoenix Valley), AZ and am looking for some contractor referrals. I tried Angie’s List but didn’t find anyone who seemed to have experience building detached garages in my price range. I’ve got a couple of referrals from local friends that I’m going to follow up with but nothing too promising. Thanks for the help in advance.

I'll be interested in the answers, too. What style garage are you considering? I want to build a Santa Fe style that matches my house, probably in the 30' x 40' to 30' x 50' range. I haven't got to the point of contacting anyone for quotes yet, but getting closer. If I find anybody before you do, I'll try to remember to post here (even though we're 50 miles apart).

I'm looking to build an RV style garage. I want a single door, 24 x 48, large enough to accommodate a big class A Motor home. I don't have a motor home but these types of garages are common in my neighborhood and help with resale. It has to be Spanish style to match the house. I've included a pic of the design I like and the house for reference. I'll let you know what I find, I may end up contracting it out myself if it will save money. I think my budget is tight for the scope of the project.

why don't you look for good contractors online and even read their previous customers reviews. or you can have recommendations of your neighbors, friends and family. always give priority to recommendations because person who is giving you that might have some first hand experience with he contractor so this will always put you on positive side. one more thing do not forget to have agreement before you start work with them.
