I posted over in the CorvetteForum but someone suggested I try over here.

In about a month I will be starting a garage remodel/extension project and wanted to get a nice cabinet system that was not super expensive. I like the off the floor design since it would be super easy to clean underneath. I also would like to add a small section of slat wall to hang a rake, shovels, and other longer items on.

What cabinet systems and/or companies would you recommend that don't cost an arm and a leg?

I live in Fort Wayne, Indiana for reference.

From what I've seen on online, I like the flowwall system flowwall.com/kits/cabinet-kits

Has anyone tried them out?

I really like their suspended on the wall off the floor design. They can be pricey but seem to be cheaper than comparable cabinet styles elsewhere. I'm looking more at something smaller such as their 5 pc design but with a larger slat wall to hang a couple garden tools on.

I plan to either put the cabinets on the left side of the 2-car bay or the right side. The back 10 x 15 area will be more of a wash/detail bay so I don't want any cabinets back there.

Compared to NewAge these seem very expensive and not metal...
PVC panels
Pressed board cabinet bodies
MDF Doors
Plastic hooks

Only thing metal are the handles.
If I were you I would check out New Age there is a vendor on here and costco carries them.

Okay great, I will check them out. I don't have a Costco membership but I believe my brother does.

To be honest, I have been browsing Facebook marketplace on and off to see what I like. Used office equipment and kitchen cabinets seem to be dirt cheap for the lot. Paint them the color of your choice, and toss them up on the walls, ground, etc where you need them. That's what I'll probably be doing. The alternative is usually the cabinets, like Gladiator, and that gets expensive quick.

Wayfair also has a nice selection of cabinets and many package assortments for solid pricing. Overstock is another one but not as comprehensive.

I've been eyeing the NewAge Pro 3.0 to replace all my gladiator cabinets.

The New Age Pro 3.0 are decent. Way better than the cheaper Bold that look similar.

The Pro 3.0 is what I was leaning towards. I like the stainless steel counter-top better. Is there a reason why you have one stainless and one bamboo?

I noticed the ones ordered through costco only seem to come with the bamboo counter-top.

I wanted one metal one for dirty car parts. It’s not thick metal. It will ding.

I like the Gladiator Premier cabinets. They are steel and very stout. They can hang from the wall and free up your floor space. HD and others have them on sale at various times. Best part of steel cabinets is sticking stuff on them using magnets.

Years ago I bought an entire kitchens worth of vintage General Electric Steel Cabinets in Turquoise for $300. A dozen or so cabinets in a variety of sizes including the matching electric stove. Sold that for $200. I installed all of them in my garage and basement workroom. Solid and roomy. I would look on Craigslist or Ebay for people selling these. I found mine at an estate sale. I did have to remove them myself, but that was not a big deal considering the deal I was getting.

Costco offers a limited number of NewAge sets. You may have noticed that Costco is a very large business and they get better pricing from NewAge based on their sales volume.

That said as a small business, I get the same pricing as Home Depot and the like. Can't match Costco but I'm competitive with other retailers.

The best way to purchase NewAge cabinets is to start with a set. NewAge packs wall and base cabinets inside the tall locker cabinets to save on shipping costs. So find the largest set that works and add cabinets to fill out your space. Use the add to quote button on ShopStorageCabinets.com and I'll send back an invoice you can purchase from.

Another satisfied New Age Pro customer from shopstoragecabinets.com. They all arrived with matching keys too...22 of them!

I’m very happy with my Newage 3.0, installed last month.

Tarmy where did you order you doors?

Rockler...but other places sell them too. They are called “foil” type...plastic laminate vacuumed over particle cores. They stay flat...are easy to clean...but not cheap.

Rockler puts them on sale...with free shipping every so often...saves big bucks that way.
