Perhaps not a "tool", but this has been my favorite purchase in the past year. If you're like me and lose tools/parts constantly and spend 50% of your working time looking for misplaced items, these are a lifesaver. It's also nice to be able to slip in and out of with your normal clothes under, and not have to get dirt all over them.
I bought two sets of Carhartts last December, one X02 insulated for the winter and one lighter one for the other three seasons. Carhartts are pretty well constructed, but the fit is really baggy on me, like trash bag sleeves and legs. I had to constantly watch where my arms and torso were to avoid scratching paint and getting hung up on things.
Not having tried Dickies or Red Kap, I figured I try something European. The Europeans are usually slimmer and style their wear accordingly. So I picked up this from Trident-Supply:
Loving it so far, this thing is loaded with pockets everywhere. The arms are tighter, the legs are only a little tighter than the Carhartts which is good for avoiding swamp ***. The knees are reinforced with ripstop nylon, and also have pockets for kneepads, which is great for me since I don't have a lift. I like that it's in black, which hides the dirt well. The fabric is also a polyester/cotton blend, which doesn't take up oil as quickly as the Carhartts do.
All in all, I'm very pleased. I'll probably pickup the warmer one for winter use in the future and sell my Carhartts on eBay.
