Perhaps not a "tool", but this has been my favorite purchase in the past year. If you're like me and lose tools/parts constantly and spend 50% of your working time looking for misplaced items, these are a lifesaver. It's also nice to be able to slip in and out of with your normal clothes under, and not have to get dirt all over them.

I bought two sets of Carhartts last December, one X02 insulated for the winter and one lighter one for the other three seasons. Carhartts are pretty well constructed, but the fit is really baggy on me, like trash bag sleeves and legs. I had to constantly watch where my arms and torso were to avoid scratching paint and getting hung up on things.

Not having tried Dickies or Red Kap, I figured I try something European. The Europeans are usually slimmer and style their wear accordingly. So I picked up this from Trident-Supply:

Loving it so far, this thing is loaded with pockets everywhere. The arms are tighter, the legs are only a little tighter than the Carhartts which is good for avoiding swamp ***. The knees are reinforced with ripstop nylon, and also have pockets for kneepads, which is great for me since I don't have a lift. I like that it's in black, which hides the dirt well. The fabric is also a polyester/cotton blend, which doesn't take up oil as quickly as the Carhartts do.

All in all, I'm very pleased. I'll probably pickup the warmer one for winter use in the future and sell my Carhartts on eBay.

I just wear a long shop coat, hangs down just below the knees. Super easy to take off & on, keeps my clothes clean and comfortable to wear. Just use to it I guess, been wearing them for years.

No need for me to look all stylish like a European race car driver while working in my garage :lol_hitti

Like a lab coat? Dr. C96. :)

It's more a convenience thing for me. It's nice to have pockets for everything I'd normally put on the valve cover/gutter thing under the windshield, and then be able to leave all the dirt and grime on one piece than to toss in oily clothes in the washer and stain everything the rest of my clothes.

And having clothes fitting properly is one of my biggest pet peeves. I can't tell you the number of times I ripped off the Carhartts in 20 degree weather because I was tired of my sleeves catching on things while reaching into my engine bay.

Those look good. I'm in the same boat, kneeling down and laying on a creeper. I need to get civilized and pick up something like those instead of changing to my old work cloths. In this hot weather you could just wear a pair of shorts underneath.

Old work dickies and old t-shirts are my fav. I have several older mechanics style quilter jackets for colder days.

I hope you're kidding. I see no reason why we all shouldn't look like Senna while working in our garage! :lol_hitti

That being said, the Beta looks way cool. I have ahome made denim apron thing that I picked up at a yard sale for a buck. Wifey made for hubby I presume. But it works and was probably a couple dollars cheaper than the Beta.

I use my old coveralls from work. Category 2 arc flash rated so they are great for welding and hot work. I got tired of changing into different clothes each day

Lol….Yes very similar, the shop coat is probably more durable. It also has many pockets and it has a passage through which you can access your pants (if wearing any) pocket without having to remove or unbutton the coat.

I do like the idea of being addressed as Dr. :lol_hitti

Does it have zippers in legs? I can't tell from the picture. I hate taking off my work boots every time just to change into my coveralls.
