Building a new shop, considerations are a roll up curtain door or sectional track roll up. Looking at cost and ability on the sectional door. Certainly it takes up more room because of the vertical and horizontal tracks. Is it feasible to utilize (7) 21" panels to attain 12 plus feet in opening height and not be concerned about this extra weight on the tracks. I have seen this done before for RV openings but usually they are limited to 9' or 10' openings. I was wanting to go 16' wide. Reason is, the new building will set behind an existing house with a 9' footer and a 16' footer that are already 8' foot height. Just wanting to keep the same theme going, otherwise I would certainly go to the roll up curtains. Main question ??? Is 16' foot wide gonna tax the tracks because of the weight. Keep in mind, they will be sheet metal only, no insulation. I want to go with Amarr as this was the original door manufacturer.
