Garage Door Struts

I am getting a new Clopay 16'x7' steel garage door from a independent door installer that has been around for a long time in my area. It's insulated and has steel on both sides. My question is will I need to install the struts on the back to keep it from bowing when up and help with high winds if they occur? Or will the insulation and steel be stiff enough to keep it from bowing? I don't live in a hurricane area.
I have the struts off the current door so I don't need to bye new ones.
Thanks.

I would think that the installer should be able to tell you for sure. I know that my 16x7 definitely has them and if you are going to use an opener you need the vertical center support on the top panel too.

Thanks. I think it's just cheep insurance to install them. And I probably will anyway. I like the cleaner look without them though. The new door comes with one only I was told. I guess it's better to have them and not need them, then to need them and not have them.

You definitely need struts, that insulated door weighs a lot more and will sag quicker than an uninsulated.
