This particular thing is more for protecting young children than anything else.
Stuart, this isn't directed at you, just your comment reminded me of a story.
So my son at the ripe ole age of 2 liked unplugging lamps and things, then sticking the end in his mouth, then plugging it back in. Which of course had the spouse losing her mind which prompted a typical response out of me of....he'll stop the day he gets shocked. This of course was considered a none option for the spouse and me being considered barbaric. Well whatt'a ya know one day he does it and gets nailed. Guess what, he never did it again.
Then at about 3 he could reach the stove top. Now granted we had one of those radiant heat kinds with no open flame or burners. But they still get hot enough to know ya just screwed up. Well you guessed it, and once again it never happened again.
Maybe I'm just a ****, but I happen to think it's sometimes good to pick a sandwich up off the ground and eat it. I'm also sick and tired of paying the price for the ridiculous requirements for some types of equipment and or conditions when what prompted them in the first place was a moronic move by those of a less then stellar gen pool.
I think tomorrow I'll just stay in bed all day. That way maybe the door won't hit me in the *** on the way out.
