My garage is 24’x24’, with nearly 13’ ceilings. There are 4 ceiling electrical boxes on a common switch. The boxes are in a 18’x18’ square, so 6’ feet from the closest walls.
The garage is used primarily for parking a car and kids toys for now. Eventually, as kids toys (ride-ons, wagon, bicycles, etc) dwindle down, we’ll park two cars inside. I plan to do a wall of storage cabinets on the wall opposite of the garage door. Long term, maybe a car storage lift. For that reason alone, I want ceiling mounted fixtures for maximum clearance. I will use the space for cleaning/detailing our cars, so I want it well lit.
My question is how to evenly light the space with fixtures. I assume 4’ LED fixtures will be the way to go. How many, layout, and recommended fixture advice would be appreciated.
While I’m asking questions, is there such a setup where I could have 8 or more fixtures, but only have 4 of them on, when maximum light isn’t needed. I can post a layout picture if my description of the space doesn’t make sense.
