Are there any good apps or computer programs to do some garage design? I'd like to play around with garage doors spacing. Different size doors. Etc. Roof pitch. I've loooked around and can't find anything
Thanks for any advice

Many use SketchUp. My kids even use it in school. Pretty decent for a basic modeling / layout and I believe it’s free.

seems like there are a few versions of Sketchup...online, download & then pro or something (that isn't free). Any preference from hobbyist "designers" around here?

As far as garage specific software, I can't help you there. But for messing around with layouts and floor plans, I really like LibreCAD. If you've ever messed with AutoCAD, you'll catch onto LibreCAD very quickly. Even if you haven't, there are a lot of YouTube videos to help get you started.

I prefer the downloaded free version, but I'm pretty sure the web version will do you just as well.

I use SketchUp (3D), SolidEdge (3&2D) and Draftsight (2D) for house and garage layouts and such. The SolidEdge isn't free, bit the other two I use the free versions and that is perfect for what you will need.
Draftsight runs very similar to AutoCAD, and I believe there are many tutorials out there for it as well.
