Re: garage refurb
Hopefully this will work now, or atleast somewhat. I've been dicking around with Photobucket for the past hour and getting slightly pissed. Sorry.
I was working on trimming out the door and window the other day. I ran into some small problems as how to exactly to do it. I knew in my mind what I wanted to do but it took a few extra steps to get what I wanted. As I have been doing this, I've had to rework and replace some of the older building parts.
As the sun set, I couldn't do any more for the day and figured I'd pick it up the next, unfortunately, the rain came.
Since it was raining, I started the other day putting up some soffit, as it was raining and I couldn't do much else. I added some blocking for the middle of the soffit to hang off of, which was mostly scrap pieces that's why there's a difference in material size.
I had the wife wash the baffles and trim rings for the recessed lights and then I hit them with some Krylon Khaki paint. It matches fairly decent for an off the shelf color. Today, I continued with the soffit since it was raining again. I also put two of the baffles/trim rings in.
I also picked up some 13 watt CFLs at the store to replace the regular incadescents that I bought last week. Hopefully these will look okay in the dark, we'll have to find out later tonight.
I stopped here today.
Before I hang more J-channel and soffit, I need to do a few more things. . . .
hang a new motion light, which I bought and painted this morning
tear off some more old window trim
replpace old window trim
resheet the remaining front exterior
wire up the motion light, which has to be done before I close up the soffit
Hopefully the rain will hold off tomorrow I can make some headway.
