Love your shop and the documentation of your projects.

On the subject of HF paper towel holders.

My wife wanted a way to keep a roll of towels near the flat top grill handy and dry.
I used the HF magnetic holder, a length of 4” PVC drain line, and two custom ends to make what you see below.

Works great, and most importantly, she loves it.

I already had a black glove holder and place for the paper towels. Yet, seeing them in "Slate Gray" I knew they were coming home with me.

Thanks. Believe it or not, this month (about a week shy) marks the 25th anniversary of buying this place. It was a true mess and I spent the first year trying to get things in order. During that time, I worked on the garage but never really documented stuff. Once I found GJ, I knew I had to start recording the work and it has made it more rewarding when I go back and look at stuff that I did but forgot about.

Ummm, I really like that. You should document how you built it for others here. That is a great design.

No OCD going on but I like the Flexzilla hose. All my reels have it and I couldn't stand for the new reel to not have it either. I considered waiting until Prime Days but I'm on vacation this week.

Started out with buying some fittings from Menards

The new reel is a 25' long but has space on it for more hose, I think. So I bought a 10' longer Flexzilla to replace it. It'll go on later today after I put the AC in the garage.

Also found an older S-K 1/2" drive extension at one of the "antique" shops. Then I spotted this Dewalt USB charger.

I got one of those dewalt usb charger and Ryobi versions, both does the job but the Ryobi has a nice little light that came handy as a night stand light when the power was out.

That would be a nice option.

Which reminds me, I have a battery adapter I bought at the same place a few years ago. I don't think I ever did anything with it.

Time for a quick little project again. I conceal carry my Kimber Micro 9 and 2 spare magazines. I never really had a good way y carry the latter and thought about it for a while.

I considered grabbing an old piece of fire hose. Cutting, forming and sewing as needed but I haven't grabbed any of it yet.

As we went to Amish country this weekend, I spotted a business card holder and thought it might work.

I knew it was going to be tight but leather will confirm to shape. So I came up with a plan. I cut 2 blocks the size of magazines.KIMG2763.JPG

Once those were cut, I soaked the card holder in water. Sliding in the first block was easier than the second one, it took some taping with a small hammer.

I let it dry outside all day in the 90° heat and this is what I have now.

I'll text fitting here shortly. I hope the work. While I would rather have the sit beside rather than stacked, it'll work for now.

While working on a project today I needed a 30mm impact socket. I was about to go buy one when I realized I had one. It was in the top of the rather than with the other impact sockets.

So I felt it was time to make a change in the boxes.

Nice to see that you have your sockets sitting in those socket trays correctly. When those trays first came out I had them displayed on my truck loaded with sockets, square drive down. Probably two weeks later a customer pointed out to me that each peg was sized to fit the corresponding fastener size, a 1/2” socket doesn’t sit correctly on the 9/16” peg. Of course I told him that I knew that, I was just displaying the fact that they worked with both 6 and 12 point sockets….

While waiting on the FedEx driver to show up, I drove to the Post Office and grabbed the mail. My package from the USO arrived and I opened it once I got home. This is the 5 or 6th US Flag I have received over the years from the USO. ... at least.



I promptly hung it up.

There's been a few that I have given away to friends to hang up

I spec'd out my purchase with a Spoolgun. Granted I have a spoolgun for my Hobart Iron230, but if something happens to that welder, I still can use a spoolgun and they are only going to go up in price. Besides the fact, this package gave me a $375 discount.

Unboxing the welder... and that's about all I did. Spoolgun came as a separate package.

Here's the welder itself Syncrowave 212 in a pretty shade of blue, my first blue welder.

All the accessories and cords. I already have a regulator on my Argon bottle, so this new one will get put away as a spare. Since this one is capable of stick welding, I can sell the old Lincoln Tombstone I have.

I took some measurements of the new welder, plasma cutter and the Hobart for comparison. Next up will be drawing up some plans for a welding cart to house the Syncrowave 212, Hobart 27i and bottle. I'm going to try to incorporate some storage in a bottom compartment as well.
