So I showed a picture of a couple of outlets and 2 gang boxes. We'll between a few chores yesterday. I tried to get started.
Notice the plate covers are now painted black.
I'll be replacing this outlet for with a double. I thought i would be fine when I wired this place but as I have progressed to doing all my metal fab, the drill press and bandsaw use the same outlet. That leaves no room left for anything else.

Breaker off and outlet removed.
This is when I remembered I used new work boxes. These hook around the stud and fastened with screws...not coming out.
Fortunately, I had some similar boxes, Canex as the others were Carlon. Looks like I can just hook the 2 gang boxes on after opening the hole in the plywood.

I robbed boxes from my stockpile for a future build so I needed to replace them. So after supper at Jersey Mike's, we stopped Menards.
I grabbed a few other items while there but I also mowed last night knowing I work today.... and picking up a shift tomorrow.
I also talked to the wife about a road trip to CT. She wasn't keen on the idea so the auction on Govdeals will remain just "watching" rather than bidding.....
However, I did bid on a similar item closer to home, in state...just lighter duty.
I grabbed a few other items while there but I also mowed last night knowing I work today.... and picking up a shift tomorrow.

In the mean time. .... when I went to my parents, I needed a 12" crescent wrench....okay adjustable wrench for the locking nut on the upper for the 3 pt. Since I put the box blade and never had the backhoe off, I never needed one. Wanting one that would stay with the JD and having a credit at The Jungle, I put one in the cart and decided to buy an even cheaper one with the remaining balance. 
I decided to leave the black one in the Deere and it fits right in here. Yes. That is a tourniquet with shears in the pouch. Just in case....while cutting wood.

Also grabbed a set of press plates at HF yesterday, along with their press brake.
Having the side box allows for press brake to live on top of it. The plates and accessories ride in the top drawer.

I finished with duplex outlets yesterday. Nothing exciting....however, I did get the phone call from HF telling me the other 56" box I ordered was in. That will be getting picked up tomorrow.

The new box is home. 
Its sitting in place for now. I'm considering switching a few things around but its going to have to wait a few days. We'll be doing a few things with the older grandkids so no garage time at the moment. I did install the handle and add the wood top.
As a bonus, the shipping pallet is now kindling for this winter

So now I have a brake to sell, a brake to clean up and add a shelf to the base.
I finally got the 56" box to put all the tooling in I bought last year at a NY auction but have been to damn busy to sort it out. I dig pick up some drawer organizers and liner material for the tooling. Its probably not enough but it's a start. Its just a lack of available time. . .at work today picking up a shift tomorrow.
So my plan for the base of the brake is add some angle iron long ways and then a few braces under them, welded in and a plywood shelf. I'll probably give it a coat of fresh paint and get away from the red.
Edit: sorry, had a couple EMS calls ....
I figure a piece of plywood as the shelf once the shelf bracing welded in. This will give me a spot about 24"x48" to store any sheet metal or aluminum that I have. Little pieces are always a pain in the *** to store. This will be floor space already taken up.

Started to modify the brake stand and clean it up. First step, removing all the fingers.
Then I cut the long angle for the shelf and set them in place, test fitting. Then a couple of tacks to hold it in place.

Pulled the brake off and put the stand on the welding table. Finished up the welding and moved on.
Next up was the original base verticals. The angle was never fully welded and left a gap at the bottom. I'm guessing someone didn't want to grind or trim out for the inside radius of the angle.
Since its doing nothing and obviously not needed, let's get rid of that corner.
A quick cut with the plasma and we just need some grinding to clean it up. This angle notch will work better with the ply wood for the shelf in the future.

Tomorrow, I will be grinding the red paint off, maybe sand blasting it clean. What I can see is that someone used rusty metal to build this thing...that is getting changed before some black Rustoleum gets applied.
That dirty work is going to be done outside...Hopefully, the rain will hold off for a bit.
