Here are some newer Pic's the Project is mostly done, I have some Fine tuning to do here and there and of course build Cabinets and what not, I still have to finish off the upstairs, it is usable now and has OSB up on the walls, but I would like to some type of wood over it, have a few ideas.

Awesome looking! once I have enough land to build a shop, your build is going to serve as a guiding light. love the design, use of space, and finishes.

Eastern NY huh, keep an eye out for a 5'8" blonde sneaking around your yard. If my wife ever saw this thread she'd probably hunt you down to steal your dogs... :hellobye:

Awesome garage by the way.

Looks awesome! What did you use to stain it? My uncle has a garage sided just like that, and he coated the whole thing with used motor oil.

Nice job!

What's the max load you can lift with the block and tackle? How did you install the eye bolt? Screwed in, or does it mount to a backing plate?

The stain I used is a real old stain I got from a guy that had a couple pails of it, I could not read the label, I tried it on a Piece of wood and I liked it.

The Block and tackle is mostly for looks but it is up though the top and bolted to a plate and brace, the whole jut out is reinforced and should be able to hold a decent amount of weight.

YEs the dogs will not allow anyone on the property who do not belong, they each have proven so which does make me feel better. It is nice country here.

Awesome job Joe!! That is art in my book!! This has to be one of my favorites on here.

I do have a question on your 45's that you put in to keep the building stable. Looks like you notched each 2 x 6? Did you do this with a saw or router?

I started to comment on your horseshoe over the door, but I see you took care of that. Being from Texas makes you look at things most people don't see. Great looking build, I'm sure it will make you happy for years to come.

KB1, They were cut with a saw, fit nice and tight.

Hippie, Yes me and my GF were debating about which way to hang, She researched on Web and came up with different answers, I hung it her way for a bit then one day when she was not home I flipped it around, not sure if she has even noticed.

Illin I don't have any pics of the loft area and I am not sure why. Ill have to take some, Right now it has four rough cut built doors in each corner to get to the storage areas, and it is finished with OSB at the moment, I plan to do some sort of Pine T&G or something not sure yet,.

Row, I use the Bud Light stand for holding metal coolers and kegs for get togethers, Ill integrate it in to the bar area when the upstairs is done,

Thanks for all o the nice words.

Thanks guys, It does fit nice there I had to remove about 10 trees and a couple fruit trees, I decided to keep the one apple there even though it is close but it has done well and produced great apples this year.

Yes they are proven at keeping people that don't belong out, the one on the right is my Female she is a retired show dog with many ribbons and awards. The one on the left is my male he is very smart and has been though quite a bit of training.
