hey all, just curious what you all are using for radios in your garage/shop. i have always used older stereos that were still good, but i have noticed it seems like after a few yrs out in the garage they are shot. im sure due to extrem temps both hot and cold here in MI, as well as dust, and the fact they were already prety old. so just wondering if you guys could post some pics for me so i can get some new ideas......post em all, weather its an old transister radio or a home theater system with 1.21 gigiwatts!! Thanks all!!

Here's mine. 100 watt receiver and DCM speakers. Built a cabinet to house it in to keep the dust... away from it! And I normally connect my MP3 player to it!

I have an older Bose radio/CD player that used to be in my (old) office before retirement.

I like my new office better. :)

I just have old PC speakers pluged into my I-Phone for the internet radio. It works great and I get a "loud" ringer for when the wife unit calls.

older unit, have 2 pbl speakers up in the corners of the shop itself, and it sounds killer. (i only listen to the radio , one station at that) and hear it clear as a bell any where in the shop at the right volume. plus you cant beat free!

I've got a complicated sound system because pro audio/commercial sound is a hobby of mine :p
I have a Mackie powered mixer (has 2 amps built in) mounted in my bench. I ran wire to an input panel in my network rack with microphone and line level audio jacks.
I have various speakers around my basement shop. I took the line level output of the powered mixer into a paging amp for my phone system which goes to a separate set of speakers. I put an audio controlled relay on the paging amp so if music is playing and I do an overhead page, it mutes the music. Normally I just stream music from my laptop or plug my ipod in.
To make things simple when I desire, I just plug headphones into my laptop :)

I picked up one of these makita jobsite radios form home depot. It has good sound and it blasts over whatever I'm doing or the neighbors are doing ;)
