I wish I had found this site before I started the project because the left side ceiling is only 11ft and that is where I wanted to put a 2post lift. It seems that all of the lifts that I have looked at require a 12ft ceiling. So it looks like I will have to put the lift on the right side which will prevent me from ever parking an RV in there.
Not true. Rotary makes a LC model (Low Ceiling). Check it out here:

You could get a LC model with the EH option (Extended Height) to bring you up to 10'-9" celing height requirement.
The only downside is that it's a 7K lb. lift. Not a big deal unless you lifting heavy vehicles.

I don't remember how many yards of concrete I used. I had the pad poured when our house was built about 3 years ago. I do know that the 40x35 pad that the shop is built on is 5-6" thick of 3k+ psi mix. The surrounding concrete is 4" standard mix (10ft on either side and 20ft in front).

I found a plan on the internet that was as close to what I was looking for and modified it to be what I wanted. I looked for months before I settled on this one. The plan called for 12x8 and a 12x14 doors - I changed it to 12x10 and 16x14 doors which required some creativity with the roof pitches to make it not look like a skyscraper. I also built it on a square pad - the plan had one side offset. I can point you to the plan on the internet if you'd like.
