Garage with an apartment

Anyone have a garage with an apartment with it? If so any pictures? Any idea of a price estimate....Think cheap.

I have a 24x 28 garage with a room up stairs. I had it done for around $22,000 about 3 years ago. I finished the inside myself hanging the insulation and sheet rock.

No plumbing at all. I had thought about it but just didn't do it. Cost wise. Now I wished I'd gone ahead and had it done. We took in a 17 year old kid and he lives upstairs now. It would be nice if it had water for him up there.

GLADLY it is rarely used! The room is actually a theater. If you look at the build thread you'll see all of the A/V cabling (Digital optic audio, HDMI, MONSTER, ETC) and speaker wiring in the build-out process.

In my zeal to build my SHRINE I lost track of expenses, at least those that I agreed to with my bride. Somewhere in the process of spending money like a drunk sailor my bride got access/control of the final room staging. I felt by relinquishing the theater to be "her room" was temporary because I knew full well that it would be rarely used and would eventually become what it was meant to be. In the 2 years since completion it has been used 3 times. My plan for patience will eventually pay off and the antiques will move out and the big screen will move in.
