Herb,
The inside of your shop is looking great, and I bet it is bright in there with all of those lights shining off the white walls. ;) Keep at it and also those sunset photos are pretty neat looking.

Well I need to get some pictures of the latest progress, its been sooooo s l o w
 I have the south side almost completely enclosed, and finally have the garage door up and the walk in. will start putting the osb up soon. It will be ez to heat that side since its only 20 X 30 and has good insulation. Just need my outlets wired to the big box.
I have almost all the osb that I have on the walls on the big part of the barn. Those are hard on me to put up by myself, they are 4 X 9', and start about 4' from the bottom and go up to the bottom of the roof. I devised a way to put 16 penny nails across the bottom and sit the osb on top, while I get a couple of screws started, and try to keep it from moving or falling on me or something:dunno:
I finally got my VW's moved inside out of the weather. My poor bus has been out too long:sad: That was quite the job since it had fallen off the stands and the frame sitting on the ground. Then getting it high enough to put on the trailer to move inside. I have to go get my camera and down load the pic's.

Moving along Herb, looks good even if you are moving at a bit slower pace on your shop than I am on your hearse. :) Keep at it and in no time you will have to have a place to put the hearse as well...hopefully, that is if I don't buy it first. LOL

Hey Rian, All is well, just colder than a well diggers ***.:wtf: Haven't been outside for a couple of days, its been around 16*F at night.
I have the 60 in the small barn, I can heat that one more ez. I've changed it over from Gen to the Alt, replaced some of the broken pieces around the 4 headlights that adjust the beam on the aim. They were made of a hard plastic that metal bolt turns and makes the light go up or down. I bought new rear window rubber, as it was dried out and cracked and leaked bad. At least the metal still looks solid and no rust.:dunno:
Have you painted your cab yet?
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas to you and your mates.

Well its Christmas day, and wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
I'm going to update a few things that I've been doing at the Gashole. For Christmas I got 32 ton of gravel.:rocker: That makes me a rocker:willy_nil
Since I don't have money to pour concrete, I went with the gravel. Plus it can be used if I ever do concrete.

See if I can get these pictures to work. It was storming yesterday and messing up my connection.
OK, looks like we have pictures. This is my 63, 15 window VW bus, Its been sitting outside way too long. The concrete guy said he would put it back into the barn, but I guess he was always too busy so I did it myself. It took a little doin, and time by myself but it wasn't too bad. The biggest problem was getting it off the trailer and onto the wheel rack roller. Then the trailer was in a weird position inside the barn, and had a heck of a time getting it out. I ended up grazing the side of the door post, but no real damage. I seem to have problems with my garage doors.:dunno:

Its starting to look like a bug barn, I have a 65, 70 bugs, and the 63 and the 70 bus. I plan on using the new motor out of the purple bug for the 63 bus. Still trying to decide on what rear suspension I'm going with on the 63, someone had cut the OG and made a 3 wheeler out of it. If they knew what the value of a 15 window is today, I'm sure they wouldn't do it.
I did finally get the metal put on and now trying to get the walk in door painted, but its been too cold!
I painted the floor last year with Sherwin/Williams industrial floor paint, NOT HAPPY WITH IT AT ALL!:headscrat:mad::mad: It scratches so easy, almost just walking on it leaves scratch marks. I had the Rep from S/W come out along with the store owner and he said I was suppose to buy a hardner to go on top. But I asked him about that when I was shopping for paint, and he said that it was for to make it more glossy and would help to protect it, BUT was more of a preference than a necessity. So now he wants me to buy the top coat hardner. If I knew I had to buy the top coat, I would of went with another brand. I used U-Coat it on the other floor and it looks nice and holds up well.

Pretty cool! I really love the old bus! About 1964 my dad looked at a new one. I really wanted him to buy it, but we got a Beetle instead. As new cars they smelled very different than other brands. Very distinctive smell. I don't know if new VW's have the same smell. A few years ago I got the bug to get a diesel VW. Drove onto the lot and walked around but not one salesman came out to talk. I think they thought I couldn't afford to buy one. Same thing at the Accura dealer. Honda sold to me.

Really like your shop. It's looking great! Can you start on the bus soon? I had a Porsche 356 Series II with a transporter engine. Wish I had never sold it. In fact I'm rarely happy when I sell tractors, cars, or trucks.:headscrat

It does **** putting all that time in prepping the floor for the Industrial Paint, then have it scratch so easy. Plus the paint ain't cheap:mad:

Well I came across some cool stuff from CL.:rocker: This is a cabinet from a dentist office, I would say maybe 30's or 40's? And also the light that goes over the patient, this looks old too, and works. Also got some plates for Christmas and I bought the 666 plates.
Plus a nice BLACKHAWK FLOOR JACK!
and some old barn metal that was on this property when I bought it. A storm blew it down and in the neighbors field.

You mentioned the light and cabinet this weekend, but never mentioned the jack. I've wanted one of those for a while now. Nearly bought one in Tulsa a couple years ago and is slipped through my finger. Great score there!

The Art Deco style drawer unit is way cool and looks to be in excellent condition. I have a buddy with a large shop who has 2 of those dental lights. One is ceiling mounted between a mill and a lathe. Really nice to use for close up work as needed.

So whats the going price for that style of jack? I don't know if I paid too much?

I really couldn't say on the value of the Blackhawk Jack. Like most old equipment it is worth what someone will spend on it I guess. I paid $50 for mine I think, different model that lifts 4 tons but needs some work. I bid $100 on the one in Tulsa that I missed out on but don't know what it sold for. How much did it run you if you don't mind me asking?

I also completely missed the CONOCO plate, that is pretty cool.

Your '60 Bel Air is super nice, Bug! The sheet metal looks pristine.

My Bel Air is also a four door. It was originally a six cylinder Powerglide car, but I swapped in a 350/TH400. I've had mine since 1987.

Cheers!

Thanks, Blue Bomber. I wish I had more money and time on the 60:( I just have too many other vehicles on the list to wanting to finish. The bad thing is, that it wouldn't take a hole lot to make it a nice DD. (daily driver) It is pretty solid, metal wise. But to make it really nice like I like??? well that's just MO TIME, MO MONEY. It is so close to making it a nice car for momma to go to Wal Mart and buy 50 sacks of groceries, plus ez for the MIL to get in and out of.
I have a few new parts for it, like a new radiator, rubbers for the back glass. The poor car leaks water in that area. The one problem that's unique is trying to get a new ignition key for a 60. They make 59's and 61's, but for its own ignition, no go. Oh sure I can make it work, but its not a simple plug n play item.
Thanks for stopping by, and please check my site OFTEN!:thumbup::thumbup:

Bugs,

If you are looking for just a key, I think I recall that Briggs & Stratton lawn tractor keys are an exact match (except that they say "B&S" instead of "GM").

If you need an ignition switch, check out Eckert or Impala Bob's, if you haven't already. When I rewired mine 15 years ago, I was lucky enough to find an NOS switch on Ebay. I still have the box somewhere...

Not that you probably have more time to spend on line, but Chevytalk.com has a 58-60 sub forum with some very knowledgeable enthusiasts for the "lost years". I have the same handle and avatar over there, but am not a regular poster.

Beautiful jack! I think it wants to come to my shop? Are you holding it for ransom?

Ok, that makes sense. Let's approach this logically. Has the jack ever lifted a COE? What if it fails and there is an accident? Obviously the safe way to go is to let it practice on my COE's for a few years, then it will be safe for you to use.

OK, we're almost there! My COE doesn't run so it will be more practical for you to bring the jack here just for the tryouts.:rocker:

Just checking in! Looks like you've made some great progress on your space. Now you just need a red Plymouth Fury to put those "666" plates on.

Oh I must say its tempting, but if I had another broom, it would join the other ones I have. The problem with them is they don't work.:dunno:

I had that trouble with hoes and shovels growing up. Batteries always seemed to be dead in them. My dad never found it as funny as I did.

I won't say anything about the hoes and rakes I knew growing up, that just wouldn't be appropriate. Nope not going to make a joke about how to jump start them when the battery dies, nope not gonna do it no way. :lol_hitti:willy_nil:dunno::eyecrazy::pimpflash

Re: 4,by four,for four

here are something you don't see everyday? My cousin works at Raytheon (Beechcraft). These are carbon fiber composite business jet fuselage. The plant were going to demolish them.
The other is stuff I've acquired over the past. A 6ft.****, and some porcelain signs from a swap meet.

Haven't gotten caught up, but couldn't help but post about the Rooster. There is a local brewery where I live that has a very similar one. Its probably 3 or 4 foot tall. Just thought it was cool to see another one. Also really cool looking place you have, and some neat cars too. Look forward to catching up and seeing what future projects you have.
