Anyone have opinions on gasket cutter kits? Are they all about the same? Is there one that’s head and shoulders above the rest? I’m tired of using an X-Acto knife to make them out.
Use a ballpein hammer instead, works way better, it's faster, and you don't need to trace anything out.
Cut to rough shape, locate a hole, tap gently with the ball, insert a stud & repeat on the other side to hold gasket. Gently tap around all edges & holes
I do have a general washer/gasket cutter for circles tho and it works really well especially for small washers etc. Mounts in a drill press and has two blades to cut ID & OD at same time
I have never heard of that technique. Might have promise. I fear the thermostat housing itself might be warped given its age and the manufacturers overt lack of QC in that era lol.I use the Ball Pein Hammer method, it works very well.
