Just a quick note to let everyone know that I am working on their requests. If you have not received an answer from me, hold on :) as I am still sorting through them.

A member complained that they thought we were spamming the board. Instead of arguing with them, it was easiest to just delete the post.

We can't make everyone happy, but we do our best.

Mike

I say leave it. If its a deal, post it. Don't worry about one person. You guys are providing a service to GJ, and are an alliance member. What was the deal any way?

Ps, the part number I'm looking for is 80564 from gear wrench. I don't know why they'd make 2 3/8 swivel sets.

I ordered a 1/2 ratchet using the gearwrench promotion. Today I received the following email:

Good Afternoon:

I just wanted to email you and let you know one or more things on your order is back-ordered from the factory, with a lead time of up to 17 weeks. (Sept. 9)

We are truly sorry about this and want to help in any way to ensure our relationship stays in the best status possible.

Please do not hesitate to contact myself or Mike ([email protected]) with any questions or concerns.

Best Regards,

Mrs. Taylor Kannady
Operations Manager

I have requested a refund. Fair Warning!

FWIW: It pays to use Paypal to protect yourself.

I really don't get those last 2 statements. Are you suggesting that Trident is not cooperative in issuing a refund? I haven't seen any indications of that... for what it's worth, i have the same protection from my credit card company without using it through paypal.

It's not Trident's fault that the manufacturer can't supply the demand. At least they were up front and notified you of the information they got from the manufacturer.

Stfu.

Mike has already told us that. You don't need PayPal or anything to protect you. They will refund you if you choose to do so.

They can't help if supply is shorter then the demand. Go troll somewhere else.

Thank you both for your comments.

We have no problem issuing a refund, whether it is to a CC or PayPal. We are very sorry that these items have been back ordered. I don't believe our company nor GearWrench were prepared to have such success with this promotion.

We are new to the online world, we have to just live and learn.

Sorry, got a little irritated for someone ranting about what seems a great company and awesome customer service.

Taylor, price check for gear wrench 80564 please?

It's fitting that the guy complaining about an awesome company is on a garage/tool related site because he sure sounds like a real big tool himself. Before bad mouthing a company how bout you take a step back and be thankful they took time out of their day to email each customer that ordered that product to let them know the wait time. I have ordered things from other sites that just don't show up on the estimated delivery time.

Get a life dude.

Thanks Trident, you guys still kick @ss

Mike

I did a live chat with Taylor on their website today inquiring about my 2 orders. She quickly checked and responded that one order is shipping out tomorrow, and the other is on B/O till Sept, but often orders come in sooner. I thought about it for a while and did another live chat with her and asked to cancel the B/O'd order. She graciously responded ok and asked me to wait while she did it. As soon as we finished our chat, I received an email from PayPal stating that my payment had been refunded. It was instant, and with no hassles.

So far Trident has been great to deal with. They cannot help being inundated with orders from this promotion, and I completely understand that. I still kept my other order active, but personally chose not to wait for the B/O.

BTW," live chat" on their site is really the way to go. It's instant, and no waiting for a response to your questions.

Hi Taylor and Mike,

I have a suggestion. As I stated in an earlier post, I cancelled my back ordered item with you. That said, I would really like to see this promotion again, at least on the items that have a 17 week waiting period. The only exception I would suggest would be that payment not be required until the item is received into your stock and ready to ship to the customer. I have done business with many online venders in the past that did just that. They accepted pre-orders without payment until the item was in. I know I'm only speaking for myself here, but I personally don't like to pay for a regularly stocked item that I won't see for months, and I feel that others probably feel the same. I don't know what your overhead situation is, or whether this is possible for your business or not, but thought I would toss the idea out there.
