Getting toolbox off of pallet?

This may be a dumb question, I haven't slept in over a day so forgive me if I'm not the most "with it" right now.

My matco double bay just came in. He set it in my garage and took off. I've got a toolbox sitting on a pallet. My original idea was just to roll it off the pallet. They've installed 2x4s in front of the wheels to keep it from moving. I don't have any other guys here to help me and I'm not from the area so I don't really know anyone here. Do you guys just break those 2x4s off and roll it off the pallet?

I'm tempted to just grab my big pry bar but I don't want to damage my box.

I'm a big guy. It's a big box. Lol. I'm in a retirement community at the moment while I finish school. I don't think I can walk next door and grab a 70 yr old man to help me

Use some of the wood to make ramps. Or just grab a Sawzall and cut everything away. Then make a lever and fulcrum out of the waste lumber and kick out what is left.

Lots of ways to skin this cat.

I would simply knock the 2/4's that are keeping the box on the pallet then push the box off, if it makes you feel better simply use 1 2x4 on its side to step the box down a bit. I've re-railed box cars using scrap lumber to climb it back up on the rail so going down should be a breeze.. :)

I was worried about the weight of the box dropping the 4"or so onto the casters. Apparently I am strong enough to lift one end at a time. So I lifted one end and rolled it off and set it down and then did the other end.

I did spend more time typing than doing. Haha. I didn't want to break my box 5 minutes after out was delivered.

It'll be fine. Pro boxes are tougher than that. They're made to bump and bounce over shop floor drain grates and pavement seams.

I'm getting close to 70 and I think I could have unloaded it by myself. We are not as frail as we look. :)

When you get your triple bay some day, you can ease one side down at a time with a floor jack and a block of 2 x 6.

I always just yanked real hard and let them bounce off the floor when unloading them off the pallet. Of course, I was always dealing with Snap-on boxes.

Seriously, if a roll cab cant handle the 4" drop from being unloaded off of a pallet EMPTY, then its not worth having.
