OK, I am NOT a HVAC person what so ever so bare with me.....
Here is a test of skill for ya'll...We live in a old lofted apartment with ceiling going from about 20' sloped up to about 35'. The main wall has 3 large windows roughly 8' x 8' single pane
that are "shrink-wrapped" and a sliding window to the porch. The heat setup is primarily baseboards,] and it does have an A/C/Heat (blower?) installed through the main wall as well.
As you can imagine our electric bill ***** during the winter...we can get the upstairs warm just fine but downstairs is way way cooler. I have contemplated/attempted using a length of 4" dryer duct going down the stairs connected to a reducer and a conventional 8" fan at the bottom to pull warmer air down, I am unsure if this will really do anything?? I have hopes but my wife calls me crazy lol I am in need of a relatively lower cost way to move heat down stairs that is not invasive (its an apartment so nothing permanent) to set up. Any creative thoughts appreciated!
