Howdy folks! I did my obligatory introduction earlier, but now it's time to introduce my garage. By no means is it as fancy as some of the beauties here, but it's what I have and I make the most of it.

The unit is a detached 3 car wide with extension and a single door on the back side.

Here is the picture from the original seller's listing back in 2011.

I didn't buy the home from the original owner, but apparently he was an engineer and did a lot of customization to the house and garage during its construction. The home was built in 1997, but it is fully wired for cat5 and audio with 2 network drops per room. There's one in the garage as well which I have connected to a wireless access point so I can get wifi in the garage. He even went so far as to run a network cable to a port above the front door which saved me a lot of hassle of cabling to install a network security camera. The garage door is 1 section taller than most garages and the doors themselves are insulated which is a rarity in Houston. Inside, the walls and ceiling have been fully finished with plywood and fluorescent lighting has been placed liberally throughout. There is a fold down door to the fully decked attic space with plenty of extra storage. The previous owners had installed some cheap Ikea shelving which has been useful, but I'd like to eventually replace them with some enclosed units.

My first project that I undertook after moving in was the garage floor. I decided to do the flooring in two sections, left and right. I moved all the junk to the right side of the garage and started with a nice pressure wash.

Here's all our junk pushed to one side. Any guesses on what the car is?

Now here's where I messed up. I purchased 4 kits and each kit is supposed to cover 250 sq feet. I sectioned the garage off at the 15' mark with blue tape and mixed up the first kit to start. What I should have done was to mix both kits at the same time to do everything at once because it turns out that the color didn't quite match from kit to kit.

I thought the color wasn't matching because the paint was drier on the first kit and figured it would all match after everything finished drying, but that turned out not to be the case. You can see some of the lighter patches where I went back and put on more paint in the lighter coverage areas from the first kit.

That's pretty much all I've done to the garage since 2011 aside from putting in more junk. At least until this year. I'll probably end up with a third shade on the right side of the garage when I get around to doing it but I can live with it. That's all I have time to post now, but I'll add onto this as I have more time.

looks like a toyota something. is it an 86? cool space you have there, stinks about the epoxy, but it's a work space so at least it's easy to clean and nice looking.

It's a little small for a Buick but you guys that guessed 86 coupe are correct! And here I thought I had disguised it fairly well. I'll have more pics of the car and garage as I add to the post.

im guessing its a car under a lot of garage stuff that got piled up on it. LOL

as for what I my first glance thought maybe 80's era Mustang but I know that's not correct. I looked a little longer and maybe Dodge Shadow from the 80's as well but I don't think its that either.

I have no Idea but welcome to the Board and keep posting pics

Yep yep, 1986 Toyota Corolla GT-S. Here's a pic of the car before I recently redid the entire setup last year.

After half the garage floor was done I didn't do anything else for several years. This past winter I decided the mess was getting out of hand so I decided to reorganize the garage and finish the floor. As you can see we accumulated quite a bit more stuff since moving in. I just had picked up those Gladiator cabinets when I took this pic.

The first thing to do was get as much junk off the ground as possible. The previous owners had left a bunch of scrap plywood lying around along with some precut pieces for window protection from hurricanes. I got rid of the unusable plywood and purchased this Racor overhead cable lift system to put the keepers on. The cables are long enough to lower it down to about waist height for easy loading and it tucks up out of the way high enough for the door to open. Love it!

The next thing to go in was a wall mounted tire rack. This was a cheap unit from Hyloft but it does the job. I'm a little disappointed on the width, but overall it isn't too bad for the money. That's a fiberglass bumper for my AE86 laid across the top.

Here's a shot of my tool boxes and work area.

I picked up another overhead rack from Costco when they were having a sale and it was a pretty quick and easy install. I didn't need this one to raise and lower since it was holding pretty light bins. I think I might pick up another one to mount next to it.

Here's the stairs to the overhead attic storage area.

Unfortunately, the roof supports are in the way for me to be able to remove the ceiling panels easily. Still, there may be a way for me to get a lift in there somehow.

Here's the Gladiator cabinets installed on the wall of the third garage bay. Now I just need to find a deal on a workbench. They were really easy to install. Just find the studs, level the rails and drill them in then hang the cabinets. It probably took about an hour or so to install everything.

The garage floor has lost its luster since I first put it down but it's been holding up well with no chips or cracking.

That's where the garage stands as of this week. The plans are to get as much stuff off the ground and get the right side of the garage floor epoxied within the next month or so. I'll document the process and get those posted up in the thread when I get around to doing it. :)
