I'm sure it will sell fast at that price, so here are pics for when the link dies.

I like how he mentions he has had it in storage for 50 years. Where is his storage, submerged in the Atlantic ocean?

Got a 4.75" wrench similar to that, used it last week to tighten the piston rod lock nuts on our 3000 HP reciprocating compressor. The wrench we have is 2.5" thick with a little shorter handle, the 1400 lb torque is applied by pulling the handle with a bridge crane hoist.

Does anyone think his weight estimate seems a little off? I feel like a 2" thick slab of steel that big should probably weigh a bit more than 49 pounds?

Weight does seem a bit off. We had several of those around the mill and we had to get creative torquing huge nuts down with the crane. We got a hydraulic wrench and haven't looked back.

Definitely rust from the coast of Florida...salt air and high humidity here. I'm 30 miles north of the seller and my tools rust inside my garage tools chests if I don't oil them every 6 months or so.

Well, it probably hasn't been used since they last pulled the drain plug at the bottom of the Atlantic.

I have the same wrench and weighed it out of curiosity. It weighs 46lbs. The handle is 3/4" thick at the base and tapers down to about 1/2" at the end.

Yeah, I can believe that. My biggest wrench is 2-3/8", and while it looks easily 46 lbs worth of massive monster, it weighs in at a mere 12 1/2 lbs.

If its just for a wall hanger I'd cut one out of wood and give it the fake patina thats such the rage with folks.
