I appreciate the hints on here so I will contribute as well:

I am a mechanical engineer who works at the large flying aluminum tube company located in Washington. I like all things aerospace related. I especially like having real aircraft blue prints that I can frame and hang on my wall. I have a drawing of the Piasecki Helistat that I will get framed soon.

As you can see in my "John Deere house and GARAGE" thread I am deep in the midst of a home remodel/rebuild. I appreciate quality tools as long as they are not made in asia. I like Estwing hammers, and will eventually jump on the Trusty Cook band wagon, but I haven't made it there yet.

I am pretty set for electrical stuff, but Klein is a brand I will always support.

I like the out doors and hunting too, but have not had the band width due to the house project lately.

I am a very blessed individual and am quite content. I am always searching for a deal (who isn't) but anything that I really need i have probably already bought. I am a large size T-shirt but not much of a ball cap guy.

Last year my SS knocked it out of the park! I will take the opportunity to say thanks again.

Cheers to you all and Merry Christmas!

I've participated in a good number of these exchanges now, and I love surprises, but I also understand that sometimes a hint or two is useful.

I like target shooting, knives, flashlights, beer, and motorcycles.

I could still use some tools specific to my working on my Suzuki TU250X motorcycle. JIS screwdrivers or bits, 6mm and 12mm hex bit sockets, 10mm deep offset wrench, tappet tool and angled feeler gauges for valve adjustments, etc. Other motorcycling stuff is of course welcome too.

About the only don't like is I'm a vegetarian, so while I know jerky is a popular gift, I'd end up having to re-gift it. :dunno:

Already bought almost for the gift of my victim and got ideas for the others things to complete... My wife suggest to offer goodies like Tim Horton coffee, Aero and Mars chocolate and maple sirup because apparently, American love those Canadian stuff...

We have a lot of fun there to participate to Secret Santa. Ho Ho Ho! ;)

It’s true. I’m not a coffee drinker but I want to try Tim Hortons just to see what all the fuss is about I do like a good donut though.

Sorry for posting this up late, life has been pretty hectic! Trying to get moved into a house from an apartment. So the stuff below is just a few things that I can think of that I am missing off the top of my head.

Pliers, I have a matco long reach kit i bought, but no cobras or normal size anything.
Allens Keys
Ratchets, everyone needs more ratchets. I only have the kobalt set I was gifted for my birthday in 2016.
torx
sockets

my posts have talked alot about what i should buy and what i have. so a search can help :D

outside of tools, I really have taken a shine to a nice old fashioned. I love a good Bock beer. Love about anything pork or lamb oriented. Love to grill, avid local dfw sports fan. I have also really been getting into electronics, like building my own tablet and such with raspberry pi and the like!

Well secret santa I am on a vintage tool kick here of late. I am remodeling my shop all in vintage tools and such. If you read some of my posts you well see I am a vintage craftsman, mac, matco junkie. Yes I am a bit of a tool hoarder and I am a craft beer drinker usually dark beers. Me my son and wife just went to michigan for a week to hit a lot of the craft beer breweries up there. So there you have it a few ideas pretty much anything i am not very picky.

You guys need to remember that you volunteered to be stalked to participate in this. Be sure to wear shorts when you walk around your house late at night. One of us might be sitting outside your bedroom window trying to figure out that "perfect" gift... Not saying I am or I'm not... Just FYI...

:) lmao

Here is a little about me since I don't post much anymore. I'm a proud dad of 5 and 3 year old boys, as well as an 8 month old baby girl. I was a professional mechanic, and am currently doing carpentry/flooring. I love cars/trucks and have several projects( 93 Mazda mx-3, a 63 Willys wagon, and a 2.3 turbo ford motor I'm building for a future project), hunting/outdoors, coffee, food, tools, etc. (I don't drink alcohol) I'm not picky! I have caught the Milwaukee m12/m18 bug, and I love SK tools. I range from Harbour freight to snap on and everything in-between. I have a garage, but Im at the slow painful stage of remodeling and repairing it! I wear size l/XL shirts and I do wear hats. I'm easy to please, and loom forward to this every year!

How many have sent used tools in the past? I'm not getting any hints that I can find within a couple of days. I feel as if tools would be nice but hate to have them hate or dislike something because it is used.

It depends on the person; I think its probably a close to even mix of new to used. I've received both, and its not just tools for gifts. People have received Tee shirts, local brew beer, non perishable food, etc...

Take a look at past year's threads for the some of the last pages where people posted what they got. Some great ideas there!

I think in the beginning that was more common. Ir depends on the recipient but many of us appreciate used tools more than new.

I was pretty worried about this as well. I even scouted out what people sent the year before. Some pretty amazing secret Santa's out there.

I have received and sent second hand tools. I've been very happy receiving them! I also believe my recipients were happy to receive them as well.
