Hi All.. I am in the midst of buying back my 71 340 Duster that I parted with over 10 years ago. Because of this car, and our other toys, we are looking at building a 2-3 bay garage, with loft/ storage. Looking at wood frame and metal buildings... I've spent hours searching the internet for ideas and stumbled upon your forum. This is just what I needed and am excited over having many of my questions answered and hope to ultimately come to a decision on what to build. I am open to any and all ideas and input. I better start reading!!

Welcome. I am in the process of having a 30x40 garage built myself. It's a good size for a 2 bay and could be expanded just a little and made into 3 bays. I went with 12' walls & scissor trusses to allow plenty of room for a lift. I'm on a budget so I chose to build a pole barn type garage. Keep in mind prices are very different from one part of the country to another but here in Tennessee I will be all in, building, slab, 2 10x10 overhead doors, and a lift for right about 22k. That is with a friend and I doing the electric and is for a fully insulated building but no heating or A/C system. Welcome! That's a good size for most people but I went with an extra 2ft in depth for my shop and I think it was worth it (especially after that 3ft storm). I tore up my plow frame pretty good and had my full size Chevy p/u with the plow attached in the work bay with plenty of room to work on it, just a thought.
