I purchased for of these from Lowe's to install above my workbench. The cabinets are on order and won't be shipped until early February, I want to get the bench in position before deciding how high to hang the wall cabinets.

I put one together today and found the screw and bolt heads stick out of each end. Not a big deal, but it will cause a gap between each cabinet, being **** about that kind of **** it annoys me. I am thinking of thru bolting the three ends of the cabinets that will be against one another. I'll need some longer screws for the shelves, but not for the top and bottom plates. I'll loose the ability to adjust the shelves, but that would be near impossible once all the cabinets were mounted.

Has anybody tried this before? These are not that heavy and without the doors or the two center shelves, two people could easily lift these into place. I' m going to mount them to some 1 x 2 that I'll secure to the studs, I'll have some sort of temporary horizontal so I can drill and bolt them with lag screws to the 1 x 2 strips.

Guessing you ordered the Premier Series for the rest of the garage... they fit much better!

I also went with the above cabinets above my bench to get the exposed shelf. I eliminated the exposed bolts between the two cabinets, then bought 6 slightly longer bolts to bolt the two cabinets together. Mine are connected under the bottom of the cabinets, under the bottom of the exposed shelf and inside the top lip (from bottom edge, bolted at 1/2", 10 1/2", 27 1/2". The shelves can still be adjusted, but must be offset within each cabinet or bolted together at the same level.

All of my cabinets are bolted directly to the studs. Just drilled a couple extra holes to hit the studs, then used lags bolts with a nice size washer. If you add a 1x2 to the back, you will be adding extra spacing that may reduce the strength of the cabinet and not look that great.

Mounting tip... screw a temporary 2x4 on your level line, then just sit the cabinet on the board to hold it while you install.

Thanks, I intend to put some pegboard up between the bottom of these and the top of the bench, the 1 x 2 on the bottom will probably be a 1 x 3 or 4 to allow the hanging the pegboard.

I hadn't thoought about staggering the shelf height, that would allow for adjustment or changes if I needed to down the road.

I have three Lista cabinets on order for my bench, one of the double wide and two standard width. I've been looking at options for lining the drawers, I'm leaning towards a roll of yoga mat. I will need 66' of liner 24" wide, I found a vendor with a roll that sells rolls near the $120 range. The rolls are longer than I need, but it cost less for the roll than if I bought enough idividual mats to line the 25 drawers I'll have.

I planned to use the 2 x 4 as your described, it would be fastened to the 1 x whatever I decide and removed once the cabinets are hung.
