I need some garage storage, shelving etc. Is the Gladiator stuff worth the money? It seems pretty expensive when not on sale, and not necessarily a screaming buy when it is on sale.
I noticed a few months ago when I was in Sears that they had some Gladiator stacked shelving that looked virtually identical to some Edsal shelving carried by Lowe's and Home Depot.
Here is a link to the Edsal product at Lowes.

I'm not sure that link is working. The shelving is item number 319477 at Lowes. The brand is Edsal, and this particular shelving appears to be very heavy duty. The only thing that doesn't really appeal to me is the wire mesh shelving, but you could always overlay with plywood or something.
I have a lot of gladiator stuff, so I'll share the opinion as someone who has gone down the Gladiator path. I never bought any of the Gladiator stuff at retail or non-sale price. There are frequent enough sales, I always bought during sales; mostly at Sears, but also some online outfits.
The Gladiator cabinets I got are the fully welded ones, not the RTA (bolted together) and at the sale price. I think they are totally worth the money (sale price). I consider them pretty high quality products and have held up really well for over a year now. If you're interested in the cabinets I would recommend them without hesitation.
The wall storage things like hooks, parts bins, shelves, etc. are also very good. However, buying them individually is expensive. What I do is wait for a sale on the "starter kits" or some "combo kit" that includes a lot of the different hooks, bins, shelves... this makes them affordable. They are pretty heavy duty and well made. I hang some pretty heavy tools on some of these hooks and have total confidence in using them. I have some stuff weighing over 100+ lbs on some of the shelves and that's never been a problem. I recommend this stuff without hesitation.
The tool storage stuff is very expensive, but occasionally on sale. even so, they will never beat the value of say the stuff at HFT. That said, they are of pretty decent quality, welded construction, ball bearing sliders, heavy duty casters, etc. If you're very budget conscious, you'd probably find your tool storage somewhere else. If you don't mind spending a little more (they certainly aren't truck brand prices) and really want them to match the rest of your gladiator stuff, then I don't think you'd have regrets getting them.
The rack/industrial shelving that you linked to... that is one thing I would NOT get from Gladiator. There are simply too many other options that are either cheaper or better built. If you have a Costco near by, they sell something very similar made by Whalen that is very well priced. Or, see if any of your local stores sell the GorillaRack brand of shelving, especially the models with the concealed rails where you can't see the holes. I think Sam's club may also have something similar as well.
The Gladiator flooring tiles... are basically made by SnapLock, known for making the RaceDeck stuff. Other than the design pattern, Gladiator flooring is the same as the RaceDeck product with some fire retardant added to the material. It is usually a little more expensive than RaceDeck, but when on sale I was able to get them for close to $2/sq-ft. The flooring is something I would not have gotten had I not found the sale; I was originally going to get RaceDeck, but since these were the same (or some might say better) and came out cheaper I went with Gladiator flooring.
Hope that helps anyone who's considering Gladiator stuff...
